Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze / Squeezeplay / Squeezeslave
Hi, I'd like to run squeezeslave on a Windows XP machine to output music from squeezebox server to the PC's soundcard. Squeezeslave seems to be up to this task, its lightweight and simple enough (which I like), except it will only play mp3 files. If I try to play an Ogg/Vorbis track I get nothing but silence :( Most of my music is in this format so I need support for it. I tried searching but found no info on this, so, I'd be grateful for any ideas what to try. -- el_maco el_maco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30204 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86085 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But presumably the fact that squeezeslave is running in Task > Manager would suggest it found all the DLLs that it needs? If you run squeezeslave.exe from a dos-box command prompt with the -help parameter, it'll give you a full list of supported commands: squeezeslave.exe -help To get a list of output devices, run: squeezeslave.exe -L This then gives you the number to pass in via the -o in moose, or whatever. In theory in moose all you should need is the full path to squeezeslave: C:\Program Files\Squeezebox\squeezeslave\squeezeslave.exe and the output device in the Args: --output 2 When launched within Moose there wont be any user feedback, so doing a -help in moose is pointless.. Likewise, if it fails to start for some reason I dont think Moose moans about it, it just wont appear in the players menu. -- - Dr Lovegrove http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove http://groups.google.com/group/moosenews ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Then run squeezeslave -L Is the 4 after -o the sound card you are trying to use? For a complete list of supported options run squeezeslave -h I'd suggest you use the short form options and don't leave any spaces between the option and value. The -s option is no longer required and should be removed and you probably want to add -R. So the revised cmd would be; squeezeslave -R -m01:01:01:01:01:01 -o4 You can also use the display option to help get you going and then disable it. Add -D -w78 to the above. squeezeslave -D -w78 -R -m01:01:01:01:01:01 -o4 -- ralphy Ralphy *4*-Classics, *2*-Booms, *12*-Squeezeslaves 'Squeezeslave' (http://code.google.com/p/squeezeslave/) 'donations' (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=LL5P6365KQEXN&lc=CA&item_name=Squeezeslave¤cy_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donate_SM%2egif%3aNonHosted) always appreciated. ralphy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3484 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86085 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes - SqueezeSlave. The problem is I can't find any proper installation instructions for it (or for squeezeplay etc..). Regarding command line params I have tried changing -o X to X=0,1,2,3,4,5 none of which work. Squeezeslave is running in task manager. -- rbl rbl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4517 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86085 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze / Squeezeplay / Squeezeslave
All 3 work but user may have different preferences. All players can be controlled by Web UI, Moose, iPeng, Duet etc. as well as their own UI. Softsqueeze is Java based and has a UI which is an emulation of "older" player such as SB3, Transporter - so only monochrome text/dot display. Audio is through standard Java audio subsystem which means will not be able to use special PC audio hardware (i.e. up to 48kHz). Squeezeslave is compiled "C" is mainly UI less (although i think it can have a display now). It can take advantage of specialised PC audio hardware. Not sure if it still has a problem with 48kHz internet streams. Squeezeplay is lua based and has a colour GUI and is the same as the new players Touch and Radio. I think audio support is like Softsqueeze and I think it cannot make use of special PC audio. Sync on all s/w player is unpredictable as can depend on the drivers and h/w. In some case long delays before synced audio starts on s/w player. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86085 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
