Dears, i have a pmapper-3.2-beta2  running in a hostgis linux 4.2 (64 bits)
The application run with 64 layers ( in a postgis database).

The server are a dell 2900 ( 2 xeon dual core ) with 4 gb ram , 16 mb video
ati es1000.

 

But I see the system slow, in full extent the layer are too slowly to load.

 

I understand that when less layers are active (or more little are the
extent) more faster are the system.

 

But I need to put more layer on this system.

 

 

I need the best optimization for this, if you please do you know any doc or
Say me recommendations for max speed of layers display ?

 

I will up the shared_buffers of postres database to 500Mb.

 

The video memory (or adapter) are sensitive? ( for draw pngs? )

Thanks Again Armin, i take the function and work ok, but the other 
layers are not displayed, and if i set/unset any frame the zoom are
clear and display all extent.


Im trying to upgrade my version to 3.0 , but if i can solve this with
this version are ok. 

(the new version say me an error: Parse error: parse error, unexpected
T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in
C:\ms4w\Apache\htdocs\infoloc3\incphp\init\initmap.php on line 171)

I need to start the application with a predefined zoom in a point.

zoomLayer work ok in a polygon (shape & postgis) but dont work in a
point.

I don't know if it helps since your error looks a bit strange, but: the 
function 'queryByAttribute' and the filters for PostGIS layers have been

messed up in Mapscript/MS 4.10. The required syntax is different from 
4.8, and it additionally contains a bug...

In order to work correctly you need to modify the part in 
/incphp/init/initmap.php/getMapInitURL()
around line 488: modify to

  if ($qLayer->connectiontype == 6 || $qLayer->connectiontype == 8) {
  if ($_SESSION['msVersion'] > 48) {

Dears
I need to know why when i try to apply "zoomLayer" to a
postgis layer the map are not displayed, but 
when i try this to an esri layer work ok.
 
The line is
map.phtml?winsize=small

&language=en&config=flat&zoomLayer=unidad&[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@0
 
"unidad" is the postgis layer
"alcantar" is the field
"S" is the value

I have thefollowing error in my apache error_log.

Hi, please, can anybody let me a little explanation about how / where 
 put a custom postgis sql in order to work with search section?
 
I set the array in js_config.php
searchList['calles'] = new Array('',
'#STREET1&&#STREET2', '',''); 
 
I need run a SQL with this 2 text ( #STREET1&&#STREET2) :
 
select textstring,
gid, xmin(box3d(p.the_geom)) AS minx,
ymin(box3d(p.the_geom)) AS miny, 
xmax(box3d(p.the_geom)) AS maxx, 
ymax(box3d(p.the_geom)) AS maxy
