The Farstream (formerly Farsight) project is an effort to create a
framework to deal with all known audio/video conferencing protocols. On
one side it offers a generic API that makes it possible to write plugins
for different streaming protocols, on the other side it offers an API
for clients to use those plugins.

Re: [new/update] devel/spidermonkey 1.8.5

2012-04-05 Thread Landry Breuil
On Wed, Apr 04, 2012 at 07:11:55PM +0200, Landry Breuil wrote:
 Hi,

Here's a port for the last official release of spidermonkey :
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/SpiderMonkey - which was released upon
 Ffx 4 codebase.

This _not_ an upgrade to lang/spidermonkey (which, like
devel/xulrunner/1.9 is built from Ffx 3.6 tarball) - because the newer
ones don't work on sparc64 and probably other archs. lang/spidermonkey
currently builds fine on 8 archs, that new version probably targets only
the archs firefox supports (i386/amd64/ppc, builds on sparc64 but is
broken), but newer gnome stuff (gjs 1.32) requires that new spidermonkey
(see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=664360). All that to say
 both versions are needed...

Note that a spidermonkey 1.8.7 release based on Ffx 10 ESR is planned,
 see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=735599. The version
number matches Javascript language version, contrary to
 lang/spidermonkeyfollowing mozilla's branch version...

I know apache-couchdb could benefit from that new version, and it seems
newer mongodb versions will switch to v8 (per
 https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-2887). No idea for mediatomb.

All that to say i'd like to import this new version as
devel/spidermonkey, and while here update lang/spidermonkey to build
from last Ffx 3.6 version. Special care was taken to ensure both could
be installed along and wont conflict (@option no-default-conflict +
@conflict, install headers in a versionned subdir, install versionned
 binary...)

New version with a soname fix from ajacoutot@, -O3 also stripped from
optimization flags. Note that ports wanting to use that version should
use devel/spidermonkey=1.8,1.9 to ensure the correct version is picked.

This will be a good candidate for 5.1-stable when it is open.
For now either use -current, unset USE_SYSTRACE (at least for the
extract stage), or backport the fix.

dnsmasq 2.61 is close to the next release. This release has had a number of
improvements and some bug fixes mainly with the new DHCPv6 and RA support.
The ra-names feature now works on OpenBSD.

Here is rc1 for anyone using dnsmasq that is interested in helping out
test this and provide any feedback to the author.

Re: WIP: dnsmasq 2.61rc1

dnsmasq 2.61 is close to the next release. This release has had a number of
improvements and some bug fixes mainly with the new DHCPv6 and RA support.
The ra-names feature now works on OpenBSD.

Here is rc1 for anyone using dnsmasq that is interested in helping out
test this and provide any feedback to the author.

An updated diff with fixes mentioned by Stuart to use TRUEPREFIX in the
rc.d script and a tweak to DESCR.

audio/audacious unpausing by itself

2012-04-05 Thread Alexander Polakov
After updating audacious to 3.2 I have encountered
a problem: I hit pause button and it stops playing,
but some time passes and it starts playing without
me doing a thing.

Looks like the time before it starts is roughly
equal to the time from current time position to
the end of the track. Like, if I hit pause on
4:50 and the track's length is 5:00, the next track
starts playing in 10 seconds.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I'm running current on amd64.

Yes, I can reproduce this. It happens with the sndio backend.
You can use the SDL audio backend as a workaround until this is fixed.

UPDATE: audacious-plugins

2012-04-05 Thread Brad Smith
Some fixes and improvements for the audacious-plugins port..

- sync/re-sort WANTLIBs
- enable GIO support since we have Glib in the dependency path anyway
- simplify one of the Makefile patches a bit
- invert the logic for enabling/disabling the sndio backend
- more appropriate fix for some of the autoconf checks as the LIBS
variable was being polluted very early on breaking most of the
checks using AC_CHECK_LIB as well as remove/fix some improper use
  of the AC_CHECK_LIB macro

Update: databases/ruby-data_objects and ruby-do_* 0.10.7 - 0.10.8

2012-04-05 Thread Jeremy Evans
Just a minor bugfix update to the newest version of DataObjects.

Tested on i386, builds fine on amd64. Will be committing tomorrow
unless I hear objections.

Thanks,
Jeremy

 Hi!
I've updated wesnoth to the latest release 1.10.1.

I'm having trouble getting this new version to build on i386. The
 error message I get is:

Hello. Fixed in new diff. Also fix building on macppc.

This version works fine for me on i386. Single player campaigns,
multiplayer, and in-game installed add-ons all work fine. No
 regressions that I can see.

If there are no problems ports-wise, it would be nice if this were
commited because Wesnoth is not multiplayer compatible between
differing minor versions. Ever since 1.10 was released, the
number of people playing on the 1.8 server dropped from the
 hundreds to the dozens.

I wanted to give this a poke.

Wesnoth is still running fine. I've spent many hours playing it
on both single and multiplayer mode, with and without in-game
add-ons installed.

The only time it's crashed was from an out-of-memory error which
was resolved by bumping ulimit -d even higher than it was to
prevent the previous version of Wesnoth from crashing due to OoM
errors (top has shown over 900 MB used at peak in 1.10 and 700 MB
peak with 1.8, though it usually hovers between 300 MB and 500 MB).

archivers/unrar: speed up decryption

2012-04-05 Thread Christian Weisgerber
Extracting encrypted rar files is noticeably slower than unencrypted
ones. Rar uses the standard AES-128-CBC algorithm for encryption,
so I had the idea of using OpenSSL's optimized implementation instead
of the generic one included with unrar.

Running unrar t on a 1.5 GB test archive, I see a substantial
speedup on my amd64:

included AES: 1m43.74s real 1m28.22s user 0m2.35s system
OpenSSL AES:0m35.30s real 0m19.54s user 0m2.00s system

Do we want his? If so, it could stand additional testing.

2012-04-05 Thread Mike Erdely
The attached diff updates books/svnbook to 1.7.
The only changes to the Makefile before adding the space before each

[update] Kermit 9

2012-04-05 Thread Mike Erdely
Attached is a diff to update to Kermit 9.
Some links are updated from columbia.edu to kermitproject.org.

No need for USE_GROFF.
License is now a 3-clause BSD license.

ok?

I included adding a space before = in the Makefile. But here's the
diff for Makefile before those changes:
