Cadillac Hit Men...and thoughts on the Sadies
Cadillac Hit Men... Anyone in the NE know of these guys and would you recommend...the description sounds like they are right up my alley. Also, I have not taken the Andre Williams collaboration with the Sadies, Red Dirt (Bloodshot Reords) out of my cd player since I was able to weasel a copy a week back. It's GREAT and let me just reiterate that the Sadies are unbelievable. The work on this disk really shows how seriously and intensely talented this band is. They can do anything. The cover of Henneman's Queen of the World is great and Psycho has one of the coolest guitar backgrounds I have heard in a long time. Andre is sure a hoot...someday down the line I want to party with the man. Bloodshot just keeps hitting the nail on the head with every new release. Remider that the Wacos are at the Hideout tomorrow night (monday) get there early. Reno?? Tahoe? Carson City? March 12-15
Hey all, On a completely illogical whim, I am going to be in Reno...yes, Reno, Nevada from March 12-15. Does anyone know if there is anything cool to do in the realm of music. I am not much of a gambler, I dont ski, and despite the fact that I really really want to go to that HUGE bowling arena featured in Kingpin, I probably will not. I will have a car so I am mobile. I hear there is some Snowfest in Tahoe that has bands and such but cant find any info. I am missing Robin Trower by two days (Damn me missing the King of the Fender Strat...He is another guy I forgot about that kicks Clapton's ass up and down the fingerboard.). If anyone out there knows anything, let me know, it would be appreciated. I supposed I could go 4 days without music since I will be in Austin from the 16th-22nd for SXSW, but I am still curious if there is anything going on. Any other hints, ideas, cool places to go, eat or see would be appreciated. Thanks. Alex "is anyone putting together a comprehensive alt.country friendly SXSW schedule?" Millar _ DO YOU YAHOO!? Re: cheap flights
hey jim, www.cheaptickets.com is the best I have found for both lodging and flights. I booked late to Austin from Chicago and still found a flight under $225 which is more than I wanted to pay (I missed my big Southwest plan by one day, oh well.) Alex "who is having somewhat bad vacation planning kharma lately, but at least www.cheaptickets.com has been good" Millar ---James Gerard Roll [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hey Everyone, Do you know of a sight on the web that features cheap flights?? I get the Southwest and Northwest weekly web-specials. But I need to look into an advance-booking for my guitarist for SXSW. Todd Snider Robbie Fulks
Hey all, there is a minor buzz on the Todd Snider list about a show on the 24th of March in Milwaukee with Todd and Robbie? Is it just them together or a bunch of singer songwriters? Robbie at Goose Island every Wed. in Feb
Robbie rawked hard last night at Fitzgeralds. No Jet, but got most of the new album, the Egg song, a cool duet with Tim Carroll who is excellent BTW and lot's of rockers. A long set, over 2 hours straight. Was informed that he will be playing Goose Island Brewery every Wed. in February starting next week. I dont know where he is gonna set up to play in there, but its a pretty cool place. I will be there for sure if I can.
