RE: X in L.A.

1999-04-08 Thread Thomas Wodock

Well I think you should call him back up and tell him to change his mind and
head east!
Or at least have him call WDVR's Common Thread Sunday Night between 10PM and
midnight so I can beg him to.

Yes I know I don't say much on this list but this is X

I talked to Doe briefly on the phone the other night, and he didn't
think they'd be coming out east anytime soon.

 Jamie's got that exactly right.

Mrs. Hockestix and I actually saw Ms. Bolint open for Freakwater some
months ago; you can see it made for an, uh, interesting evening. Esther's
still a resident of the same East Village she sludged through to the dulcet
tones of Screamin' Jay Hawkins in my old friend Mr. Jarmusch's picture. Her
music was DEFINITELY in the stolen by gypsies vein--but wanted at times to
have a sort of twang twinge...(There's a new genre for
ya--Twinge)...Screamin Jay, unfortunately, did not attend.

Yes it all comes back to me now... The voice... I always thought she was
talking about me when she was saying "he's my main man"... She put a spell
on me...
Well Thanks for the response. She is coming out with a record in the Spring
I see.

Thanks

RE: Summerteeth Trade

1999-02-07 Thread Thomas Wodock

Now wait a second Mr. Iceman I was not the original person who wrote I have
a CD of Wilco That was someone else. I wrote in agreeing to Mr. Wall's
good ethics that that person should not be doing that bootleg thing. I don't
want any reputation like that!!!

I've been noticing a lot of post about bootleg or pirate
 materials lately on
p2. Does anyone other than the bootlegger think this is an appropriate
activity? I sure as hell don't and it offends me as well each
 time it rears its
ugly head. Theft is Theft is Theft.

 Nuff said.

I know Nirvana, and John Anderson ain't no Nirvana.

how true. John Anderson is much more important.

Pshaw... a truly pointless comparison. Besides, Nirvana rawked. And except
for, say, "Roundabout," John Anderson really annoys me. But that
