Aha. I haven't yet ported the postscreen changes to non - non-prod-version.

I removed the warning for services with "process limit = 1" in the
2.7-nonprod release series, when I added the postscreen daemon.

Very very strange. I suspected something like this and rebuilt. To no
avail. I will now nuke all the old binaries and see if that works.

... dum di dum...

Working now. Thanks.

Some more details:

Aug 13 14:52:40 mail-ausfall postfix/master[5607]: daemon started -- version
2.7-20090807, configuration /etc/postfix
Aug 13 14:52:40 mail-ausfall postfix/master[5607]: warning: service "smtp" (25)
has reached its process limit "1": new clients may experience noticeable delays

Oddly enough, this does only happen on mail-ausfall, mail, with the
same master.cf doesn't show it...

And yes, according to master.cf I have:

# ==
# service type private unpriv chroot wakeup maxproc command + args
# (yes) (yes) (yes) (never) (50)
# ==

smtp  inet  n   -   -   -   1   postscreen

But what exactly is happening here? Of course the limit's 1 and one
process is always running. What would cause this, especially in the
middle of the night?

mail_version = 2.7-20090807
