I invision 20% going to OSGEO of which they will take care of the management of funds, our trac hosting etc (e.g. collection and setting aside the remaining 80% for PostGIS related activities). I invision dice that will be thrown when we come up with a set of ways to spend the money and can't decide which way to use said funds. If the dice fail us, like they fall under the table so we can't see what numbers are face up, then the money sits in OSGEO coffers to be used at a later time or for some all benefiting OSGEO activity like the super duper OSGEO buildbot. Am I missing something? I'm sure I am since I try to avoid thinking too far ahead since there are too many permutations of what can happen. Re: [postgis-users] Installer bugs ?
Installing using method 2) works. I did not notice that the PGBIN and PGLIB vars were not indicating to were i installed postgres. So problem is pretty much solved... Method 1) of installing still doesn't work tho. Plus, if you use QGIS, you can download the PostGIS Raster plugin from http://spatialserver.net/pyqgis_1.0/contributed/wktraster.zip WKT Raster was the old name of the extension. Now is known as PostGIS Raster. BTW, you need GDAL 1.8 or higher. The driver version included in GDAL 1.7 had bugs, fixed in 1.8. And I'm working in the driver right now. The new version (faster and improved) will be packed in GDAL 1.8.2, I hope (and before, if you use GDAL trunk). Anyway, Could you please try with QGIS + QGIS PostGIS Raster plugin? I'm runnning a 64-bit Windows 7 and build fine for 32-bit. This would be shared with OSGEO (per Frank's suggestion) 3) Money for events -- code sprints, subsidizing for PostGIS developers to attend events, like those Europeans we are so fund of that we are going to miss at this year's FOSS4G. Hmm possibly in the future a small PostGIS code sprint would be nice :) 4) One other thing I forgot to mention I think money could be well spent on is the accredation to get our newer versions of PostGIS to be OGC certified. This I think is a big selling point for large companies and much easier sell for consultants consulting for large companies if we have a piece of paper saying it instead of just that we follow the specs. Thanks, Regina I do think that if we initially set a narrow scope for what the funds could be used for (similar to the above list) then that would be good. [postgis-users] PostGis Raster questions
Hello to everyone, I'm very new to postGis stuff and i finally manage to import into my database a .shp file and a .tiff one, with the raster extension. I used these commands for the raster file (found here: http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/frmts_wtkraster.html): >$ python raster2pgsql.py -r /path/to/katrina.tif -t katrina -l 1 -k 64x64 -o >katrina.sql -s 4326 -I -M >$ psql -d -f katrina.sql -U -W Now i'm able to see the raster file in the database, as a new table and in the raster_columns. My problem is that i can't see/use it from any gis program that i tried, such as uDig, QGis etc. Contrary to the .shp file, the .tiff most times doesn't appear or it does but with no geometry, so it can't be visualized. If anyone could help i would be glad, because i'm stuck and i can't move on to my thesis. Thanx.___ postgis-users mailing list postgis-users@postgis.refractions.net http://postgis.refractions.net/mailman/listinfo/postgis-users
