What about the Apple Adjustable Keyboard - the split
one
number pad & function keys on one half and
letters/numbers/arrow etc on the other half
Just use the half you want?
Apple number was M1242

Should work fine. Never used one myself but I've had some experience
supporting various wireless setups here at Earthlink. I'm a bit rusty on
the details but I know I've seen it work.

I was lucky and found Guitar Center blowing out Mini Macmans for $20/pop (a
great price) although they're probably even lower now, especially used. It
plugs into the printer port. The harder part was getting OMS to work. :-/

5300 and Panasonic CD Rom Player

2002-03-18 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi everyone,
last week I was given a 5300 with a Portable CD-Rom Player (Panasonic)
model KXL-D742.
I sent the 5300 off today to the Apple Repair Program (boy were they
nice as could be, the 5300 had never been thru the program). I deleted
most of it when I found out it had alot of software conflict problems
when I firt got it, I was trying to get it to the bare bones and just
keep the basic 8.1 system in it, working from there to get it back up
and running better. My problem is I forgot to save the extentions and
programs to make the Panasonic CD Rom player work.
I've looked and looked on the web but can't find anything on the
Panasonic site for macs drivers etc... Does anyone know where I can get
the player's extentions and what ever else I might need to installed
when the 5300 comes back, also any tips on getting the CD Rom player
working well and up and able to install from it would be appreciated.
Thanks- Maria

The standard 5300/190/520 video card is an apple one and takes a common
cable - HDI 14 ?

The focus card has a different connector.

I have only seen the combined Ethernet and video card so ymmv.

If anyone is looking for one for a 5300 .. .I can help

Best wishes

Small list change

2002-03-18 Thread Dan Knight

Last week a subscriber asked if I could set the lists to use the
"In-Reply-To" field.

Huh? What's that?

The In-Reply-To field tracks which message someone is replying to -- much
more helpful than just using the subject line when a thread is busy and
heading in more than one direction.

We set up one list to try it, and the person who asked for it reports
that it works just fine. If your email client supports it, this may help
you follow some of the threads, especially on the busier lists.

Re: Music Mac

2002-03-18 Thread Chris Boring

What you need is some kind of MIDI interface. A MIDI midi interface plugs
into your modem/printer port and will give you MIDI input/output. You will
also need some kind of MIDI sequencing software.

MOTU, MIDIman and (formerly) Opcode mkae MIDI interfaces.

MOTU, Steinberg and EMagic make MIDI sequencing software. Hope this helps.
Entire books could (and have) been written on this topic. I use my 3400 for
music, so it's one i'm well familiar with. Good luck!

Hi:

I am staying in a house where is an electronic keyboard which has MIDI
ports.

Is there any way I can connect this to my PB3400c?

What does the MacOS use instead of MIDI?

Is there a FAQ somewhere or a site which will tell me all?

[I am sure that those questions are very ignorant but I have never
