Asante FriendlyNet 10T drivers

2003-07-31 Thread Bob Raiselis
I've been trying to download the driver installer for the FriendlyNet 10T
PMCIA card (the one with just the RJ45 connector), but the site is having
some sort of probem with their downloads, and they arrive corrupted.

Does anyone have the driver installer that you can send me?

thanks.

Bob

1400 startup problems

2003-03-08 Thread Bob Raiselis
I've got a 1400/117 I'm trying to resurrect...

When I plug in the PowerBook 1400, the green light on the upper-right of
the screen sort of blinks, once a minute, and the speaker chirps once a
second in synch with the light.

If I hold in the Power manager reset button on the back, the speaker
chirping gets louder, and the screen flashes once a second, all in synch.
The screen flash is dim enough that it's hard to see unless the screen is
shaded or the lights in the room are off.

Removed the RAM modules one at a time, no difference. Replaced the PRAM
battery, no difference. Doing a command-control-powerkey makes no
difference, nothing starts up.

Any ideas of what to try next? This is not a critical machine for me, so
I don't want to drop much money into it, but I'd like to get it going if
possible.

thanks.

Bob

Woah! so you rig something to depress the button and leave it pushed in
overnight?

PB 1400 startup

2002-06-05 Thread Bob Raiselis

I'm having trouble getting a PB 1400cs going. The battery got totally run
down (left on, I think), but now even with the battery out it will not
boot. Put the AC adapter cord in, the screen flashes rhythmically (about
once a second) with what looks like video noise, and there's a chirp from
the speaker at about the same rate. Even without pressing the power key
this chirping starts. Nothing seems to work- Power Manager reset button,
key sequences, nothing.

Do I need to oepn this up and replace the motherboard battery?

thanks.
