I got it for the portable use and this isnt my idea of portable The trouble is that almost all the batteries for the 100 are pure junk, long since triple dead lead acid batteries which are no longer manufactured. Once they completly discharge, they are forever dead and not rechargeable, like your car battery, I wish I could find some good ones. There are about a hundred PB100 users on the PB100 list who would love to find some as well. I bought a couple of the Lind externals, and they were just as bad. Somewhere I may have the info saved; any interest? It is buried deeply though. I would like it if you can find it, as I have two of them which put out about 2V each. Re: Fw: p/b 100 battery...
FYI, The other day I put one of these old batteries in an external Apple brand charger overnight. About 2:00 AM was woken by a loud CRACK, sounded like a rifle shot. Even set the dog off. The end of one of the cells had blown partially out cracking and expanding the plastics. I'm glad it wasn't in the 165c when it went. Whats the easy way to pull one apart? The hard way appears to be alot of careful work with a utility knife, then lots of black tape to reassenble. BTW, this is NOT the same battery! You are talking about a 100 SERIES battery, NOT A PB100 battery which is a 6.5 x 4 x 0.5 lead acid battery for the PB 100. I don't think these batteries are worth rebuilding, unless they have gotten really expensive lately. Paul -- PowerBooks is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and...
