Hello Jeff:

There is another possible issue here of making sure that the modem
settings in the PowerBook Setup control panel are set to either
"Compatible" or "Normal". If those settings are not in the PB Setup cp
then they should be in the cp for your specific modem. Try each setting
and see if that works. It is also usually a good idea to make sure that
AppleTalk is off when trying to use a modem.

Good Luck!

Sincerely yours, Grizzlygiant

I've got one of these installed in my PB500, and really never had a
chance
to use it--had DSL or ethernet available most of the times I wanted to
go
online with the powerbook. I now have a need (actually, this coming
thurs. :) ) to use the modem so I can dial in to my ISP from a remote
number. I can't however, seem to hit the right combination using
ProTerm
Mac, to configure the internal modem--I either get port errors, no
modem
connected, or port already in use. (Who's using it I'd like to know!
:) )

Thanks!

I have the latest GV software installers on my dotmac page...

WiD3A7rLZnBpIMuB.1/
0.2.1.2.19.31.97.2.35.0.1.1.1?user=jsh13&fpath=PB500%20Modem&templatefn=
FileSharing1.html>

Try those, rather than ProTerm or any other script.

GV internal modem/PB 500

2003-09-29 Thread Howard R. Katz
I've got one of these installed in my PB500, and really never had a chance

thurs. :) ) to use the modem so I can dial in to my ISP from a remote

Mac, to configure the internal modem--I either get port errors, no modem
connected, or port already in use. (Who's using it I'd like to know! :) )

Does anyone have the right combination for this puppy so I can dial from
the hotel room and get online? (the hotel doesn't offer DSL--they have
one computer, with a modem, with dedicated AOL or MSN dialup only.
sheesh!)

Thanks!
