KG,

Believe the part you are actually seeking is the power supply board, the PMU
is actually a chip on the logic board.  I have 3 machines with a similar problem
and used the same troubleshooting mechanism you did, without resolution.  The
first machine I fixed, I did so by replacing the Power supply Board, the other 3
were no joy (the procedure we're using is also the same as recommended in the
Apple service manual).

PB 3400 PMU question

I've just come across a 3400c with the sleeping sickness problem; it has
problems starting up and sometimes waking up from sleep, and I am hoping
that it's just the PMU board starting to go bad on it. I've tried a new PRAM
battery, a new battery and another PSU without success.

Does anyone know where to get a good deal on one of these boards? I've been
