OK, I am feeling compelled to participate in this:

Woz ][gs w/ Transwarp Accelerator and SCSI 2.5" card
Apple ][c+ with Apple flat panel display
Prototype Apple Settop box
5 Outbounds from the first to last (the first ones were the coolest by
the way)

Dynamac Magnesium
2 Powerbook 100s
2400c
2 Mac 128s

But much more importantly all of the Newtons but the 2000 series
including an eMate.

Re: Off topic OT : Long weekend topic - what macs do you own?

2005-05-23 Thread Robert Little
Wow, lessee...

In order of age...

IIci - w/the '040 card and composite video out. Sys 6!
Portable - Currently dead (blown resistor on board).
Plus - Movers cracked the case, damaged the analog.
PowerBook 100 - Works... sorta (screen needs repair).
Centris 660AV - My main video astronomy machine.
Quadra 605 - Looks cool, runs nice, don't need it.
PowerBook 150 - In route - eBay find.
PowerBook 540c - My main machine. Really.
PowerMac 6100/60AV - Might keep this one.
PowerMac 6100/66 DOS - Cool, but redundant.
PowerBook 5300c - Loose plug (surprise), but nice.
PowerMac 7200/90 - My future server.
PowerMac 5260/120AV - A TV with screen capture.
iBook (Tangerine) - Being repaired (needs keyboard,
CD)

But my most used machines are my old Tandy Model 102
laptop and my Palm IIIxe (with GoType keyboard). I
also have some PC laptops, such as a Toshiba 225CDS
and an IBM ThinkPad TP500 (a sublaptop), and a PC
desktop, an HP Pavillion, crippled with a Celeron and
Windows ME.

Think that covers it.

With my list of 53 Macs, I'd like to staple my one and only PC to the
bottom! It's a 1.8ghz AMD something that I never ever use. My 540c sees
more action than that thing.

I seriously haven't even powered it on in like 6 months. I like that!

Re: Off topic OT : Long weekend topic - what macs do you own?

2005-05-22 Thread Dana Sibera
ok, my list - only models I know I own as they're spread among 3
locations and in use by other people than myself - I also don't know
just how many I have of each.

Powerbook 190 - a nifty writing machine, brilliant to type on in the
sunlight with that B&W screen

Powerbook 540cs - my sit-on-the-sofa and IRC machine :)
eMac 1GHz - my main desktop
iMac 400 - my file server
Performa 6360 - web and mail server for danamania.com and
danaquarium.com

Quadra 605 - my second slowest OS X mac
7200/120 - linux router/firewall
7300/200 - loaned to my mother as her main desktop
II - my 2nd most abused mac (rusted out all through the inside, never
worked for me)

IIx - my 1st most abused mac :) Worse condition than the above.
SE, Classic II, Plus - my compact family :)
LC630 - my general play-with 68k. Overclocked to 40MHz, 10GB iMac
drive installed and Mac OS 8.1
Centris 660av and Quadra 840av - why not have the 68k AV macs? :)
They just sit around looking good.
various LC, LCII, LCIII, LC475 - almost one of each in each case
design they came in.

IIci - the mate to my portrait display, and another 40MHz 68040
Iicx - poorer brother to the IIci, to make it feel better.
Quadra 950 and WGS9150 - because everyone needs a pair of big heavy
heated bedside tables

Quadra 700 - because it's beautiful. My A/UX mac.
Centris 650 - my slowest OS X mac.
Performa 6400 - because everyone needs a doorstop as well as bedside
tables.
Quadra 610 - a freebie from I-don't-know-where, and sits & props up
the pair of

...Powermac 6100s - part of the family of x100 powermacs, including...
8100 & 7100. Beauty & the beast. the 8100 was my first mac, and the
7100 I only have to complete the family.

Performa 6300 - I feel pity for the braindead little thing.

There are a few others I've forgotten, multiples of many, along with
a range of printers, monitors and various other mac bits. About half
of them cycle in & out of use :).

Re: Off topic OT : Long weekend topic - what macs do you own?

2005-05-21 Thread darkwolf45

Well, this is what I get for not staying in better touch.
Here's my 2 cents.
Mine and mine alone:
PowerMac 7500, OS 9.1 which I have upgraded and use as a hobby machine
Powerbook 1400/166, OS 9.1 upgraded almost as far as it will go
iMac DV SE 400 mHz, OS X 10.4 mostly a print server
iBook G4 14" 1.2 GHZ, OS X 10.4.1 primary machine

Not mine, but I keep it working:
Mac IIsi OS 7.5.3
Powermac 7100/66, w/ a 266G3 upgrade, OS 9.0.4
Powerbook 5300cs OS 8.1
iMac DV SE 400 mHz OS X 10.4.1
iBook G4 12" 800mHz

Not nearly the lhe same list as some posted earlier, but one I'm proud
of none the less.

Well, I'm sure I won't be the winner, but I love my Macs and would be
happy to take part in this poll. ;-)

1. Powerbook 190 (works fine, but retired and being kept in a safe
place

as a spare). OS 7.5.5

2. Powerbook 5300c (primary use laptop). OS 8.5

3. Power Macintosh 7200/120 (retired but works: being kept in a safe
place as a spare). OS 8.1

4. G3/266 Beige DT (primary use desktop). OS 9.1

I'd say you win, but here's my list of Macs I own:

Mac Plus
Mac SE/30
Mac Portable (original sans backlight)
2 x IIsi
3 x IIci
LC 3
Q605
PowerBook 540c
7100 (with a G3)
PowerBook 1400 (with a G3)
2 x 7300 (both with G3s)
Network Server 500 (with a 200MHz 604e)
Network Server 700 (with a 150MHz 604e)
Beige G3 (out on loan)
G4/450 Sawtooth
dual 1.25GHz G4 MDD

The Plus, two of the IIcis, the Q605, the 1400, both 7300s, the ANS 500, the
G4/450 and the MDD are all in service. The rest work, but aren't in use
right now.

There's a couple IIgses floating around, too.

Well well well. I'm sure glad you asked this! It finally inspired me to go
downstairs and take an official tally.

The following lists every Macintosh I own. This does NOT include my
Mother's 17" PowerBook G4, or my father's iMac Rev A.

I have pictures to prove, if anybody would like to see, email me off list.
This is about 25% of what I used to own, my parents made me get rid of the
rest. I disposed of mostly repeats.

All of these machines work.

I'll group them by processor
