Why not use GPG? It's GNU open source and it's *really* free. When you mention a program that is not well known, it's a courtesy to readers to include a URL for further information and downloading. OK, here you go: http://www.google.com/search?q=GPGie=UTF-8oe=UTF-8 greetings, Tom
HTML text can't be marked, isn't quoted in replies...?
Hi, When I get messages with HTML text, it seems the text can't be marked (for i.e. copying) and when I reply the text isn't quoted - even though I've checked the Quote original text box in Preferences. All I get in the message body is the At bla bla bla xxx wrote: line I've chosen in Preferences/Replying. Nothing else. In Preferences/HTML reader I've checked Enable HTML reader with the two other boxes unchecked. Would it help to uncheck Enable HTML reader as well, or would that mean I wouldn't see any message at all if I receive a message where plain text isn't available? (I checked this up in Entourage, and there are no problems with these kinds of mails -- with preferences set similar to the ones above). Re: AppleScript Archives
Scott at HobbyLink Japan sez: FOLLOW UP - takes sent message and makes new one quoting it to same recipient I'd like this, too. I currently use the Send Message Again script to How is this different from choosing Forward and typing in the recipient's address? Powermail auto-fills addresses, so it should only take a couple keystrokes and a return key to address it, then click to send. If you have a two-button mouse, you don't even have to move the mouse around that much since you can right-click and choose Forward. And, since it appears this is being used to remind people you sent the email, you're adding some text to it anyway, so it's not like a few more keystrokes is going to matter... Also, Forwarding blocks the message off with Forwarded message lines instead of using marks -- usually used when quoting other folks rather than entire emails from yourself. Just seems odd to me to wish for a whole new feature or an Applescript when the functionality is already there, unless I'm missing something... -- Michael Lewis Off Balance Productions [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.offbalance.com

FOLLOW UP - takes sent message and makes new one quoting it to same recipient I'd like this, too. I currently use the Send Message Again script to pester people who don't reply, but that appears to rewrite the original mail. In cases such as this, I want to have TWO messages in my outbox so I can keep a record of the fact that I e-mailed them twice, and when. --- Scott T. Hards President HobbyLink Japan (www.hlj.com)

one more thought on Attachments...
One additional benefit to the method in which attachments are handled is that you can open and modify the files and still maintain associations with the original email. In most apps, you are dealing with a temp file which makes it tough for the average (none of us of course!) to realize that work they do is not saved unless a save as is performed. -- For every problem there is one solution which is simple, neat, and wrong. -- H.
