Re(2): Draft send twice

2003-11-13 Thread Zach Selland

I just tested this and am seeing the same thing. However, if you manually
change the outgoing message from waiting to draft before changing the
account, it does not cause the behavior. It seems that PM is not
correctly deleting the original outgoing email only when invoking the
"duplicate or change as draft" dialog. Seems that it would be an easy bug
to fix. And for now the workaround seems to be to change the status from
waiting to draft before editing the email.

Cheers,
Zach

I am glad you asked because it caused me to investigate, and I had not
remembered that it was discussed before. I have some additional
information. When I hit send on the first mail it goes into the
"temporary outgoing" folder under Power Mail Files. when I change the
account and the outgoing mail becomes a draft again, and then I hit
"Send", the item in the outbox changes to reflect that my outgoing mail
has changed. However, in the Temporary Outgoing folder there are now two
files.

First I wrote a message, told PM to send it with e.g. A-account and
queued the mail. But before connecting to the net I decided to send it
with B-account. I opened the message again, changed the account and I
queued it again.

But PM sends the message twice!!! To the A-account smtp server and to the
B-account server. This is certainly reproducible.

Has anyone seen this behavior, too?

Re: reliable free POP?

macmail is good, but I think you need to supply your own smtp
server/provider.

So what about using hotpop to send and using macmail for the rest?

Request: Search for word in filters

2003-11-13 Thread Max Gossell

I've now so many mail filters activated, I'm starting to loose the
overview. If I need to edit one of them, it takes me 5 minutes to find
the right one if I don't remember its exact name.

Would it be possible to get some simple search function here as well?

An extremely good and reliable free POPmail service is found at .

Or, directly at:

A German service, and you'll need to be able to struggle through the
German application form. Also, you need a valid German address (any valid
address will do -- I searched the web for "Hotel + Germany"..). I've used
this service for a year, and it's very fast and reliable (more than 15
million accounts) PLUS you don't get any spam mail at all! Well, they do
"spam" you yourself -- you can expect half a dozen German offers from GMX
themselves each month (!) but that's it. No lines added to your messages
or anything. I have 3 different GMX accounts which have never been
publicly exposed, and I have yet not received one single spam mail on any
of them!!

Before this, I tried HotPOP, Hotmail, Yahoo and a dozen other free
services. They are all completely worthless in comparison. The GMX speed
and reliability is always 100%. Guess it has to do with that famous
"German Efficiency"... :-)

Anyhow, this is the only free POP service I can recommend without hesitation.

Thanks to Christian and Barbara,

I am sorry that I didn't noticed that this topic was already dicussed
recently.

Anyway it's exactly this kind of problem that Barbara reported either.
And I am usig the latest PM version, too (combined with OS 9.2.2 and X.2.8)

So, perhaps Jérôme could have a closer look to this issue. I send him a
copy of this message.

greetings

If you meet their criteria DSVR will give you a 'free' server to try.

If you're serious about the integrity of your mail, you would be naïve to
disbelieve that you get what you pay for.

reliable free POP?

2003-11-13 Thread Mikael Bystr

Any suggestions for free POPmail without problems, while I'm struggling
to get my own server online? Hotpop seem to always throw 5-600 messages
2-5 weeks too late and it's not useful. Good they just don't disappear
(well, I hope). To be fair, messages seem to be sent reliably.

I'm not willing to pay for it as I will run all my accounts later on my
own server.
