Except for the sending part. That just returns a network error from PowerMail.

His sending part works fine for me except that I added the .me.com in the
Auth. as user space.

Hi Richard

Not sure why sending isn't working. I don't use iCloud as my main e-mail so
hardly ever send from it - just tried a test e-mail and it worked O.K.

PowerMail won't connect to iCloud

2013-11-19 Thread Geoff Roynon
I am looking at replacing Apple Mail with PowerMail but can't get iCloud to
work. I've set it up following instructions from a recent post by Jean Michel
on the 3rd November and also following instructions from an Apple support page
- still no luck.

I am running PowerMail 6.2 build 4666 on Mavericks.

When I try to connect the status line shows: Login as userid@icloud.com
and never changes.
If I change On a dedicated secure port option and use Using the STARTTLS
command instead then the status line shows: Connecting to imap.mail.me.com

I have another account with my ISP which is working fine through POP3

Do I need to wait for another release of PowerMail?

Geoff

Use secure connection (X) on dedicated secure port (X) use port 993

Sending
Outgoing smtp server: smtp.mail.me.com
Use secure connection (X) using STARTTLS command (X) use port 587

Best wishes,

Thanks for the response Karsten.

I've tried your suggestion plus other changes and still nothing.

My gmail imap account works fine so maybe I'll have to run PowerMail and Apple
Mail together in order to get all my mail - not the best solution.
Is there a way to look at the underlying message protocol between PowerMail and
the server to see if there are any helpful messages which could help in
debugging this problem?
