One of the biggest features is failover. If a server goes down, you can just
boot up another VM.

I am a little nervous about VMware, mainly because I've had no experience

I believe I understand a benefit is the ability to have only physical box,
but several servers running separately on that box. Upside there is you
could re-boot one of the VMware servers, and not affect the others.

Naturally I am hopeful it won't affect Southwest Fox too.

Which conference was canceled?

I know of an Immigration Lawyers Association fall conference that was
canceled as it is related to the industry in question. I guess there are 5
others not mentioned by name, and I don't see if the reason was the boycott
or other business reasons.

Canceling a conference costs real money so these decisions cannot be done in
haste, especially when this controversy is barely wet behind the ears, and
the legal challenges have not been raised. Polls show that people actually
favor the law.

I am hopeful that intelligent people should understand boycotting the state
does not affect the politicos who make the rules, and it really only hurts
the people they are trying to allegedly help. Boycotting the state will hurt
the tourism, specifically hotel and catering industries and the many people
who are targeted by the legislation who serve as employees in those
industries. Ironic, I know.

Hal,

I've heard very mixed reviews of 11.

I buy my domains from Godaddy and been pleased with their service. I
tried hosting with them (Linux) and it was a diaster.

My recommendation: LunarPages.com - 'boring' (no SSH, SFTP, WebDAV) but
stable and reliable. HIGHLY recommended.

I like the co-location option (especially since I host co-location servers).
You can buy your own server and ship it, or you can lease a server. Either
way, you have total control over the server via remote control software. We
offer the entire spectrum at www.shelbynet.com and we have a secure site, with
Diesel generator backup.

Yep, pop the keys at one end of the keyboard, then hit the other end with
canned air.

I had a similar problem on my Toshiba with the 's' key. I gently pried up
the key and found a small piece of plastic preventing the key from fully
depressing. Once the plastic was removed, the key worked as normal.

You may also want to try (with the laptop powered off) shaking the laptop
from side to side and upside down to see if something is lodged under the
key and if loose may drop out.

If it's something sticky or gooy, you'll have to remove the key and
hopefully with a mild dishwasher solution remove the sticky substance. Rinse
with clean water and make sure all water is removed before powering up.

With desktop keyboards that had a soft drink or coffee spilled on them, I'd
emerse the whole keyboard in warm soapy water. Rinse with clean water and
use a hair dryer to dry off the water. Keyboard back to normal.

Subject: [NF] Laptop keyboard showing signs of failure

I must comment too much. g The '' key is starting to stop
responding. The rest of the laptop (Dell Inspiron 5100 -- 3 years old)
appears to be fine.

My thought is to get a can of air and blow out the keyboard as it sets.
Other tips or suggestions?

Re: [NF] Redirect an IIS server to a Temp down page.

2006-06-20 Thread john.harvey
Create a page with the information about being shutdown and call it index.htm
or default.htm (whichever is the default document now) Oh yeah, you might want
to rename the current default htm file before doing this!G

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the
right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting
moment.
