Brilliant. This might allow me to use patchbay to control the garageband drums
with Pro Tools because it will allow me to force garageband to use a different
input. You rule.

instrument defs

2010-09-27 Thread Goldfinga Productions
I was told that pt comes with the equivalent of instrument definitions already
built-in. How does one go about using these to control external gear like the
motif xs and stuff? I want to change sounds and what not like I do in sonar
with pro tools.
Thanks for any help on this.

2010-09-27 Thread Chuck Reichel

Hi Bryan,

Pretty cool!
But that did not work for my self Command O does not work for me but
if you hit command A then go to tool bar and hit "Show info" all the
device windows pop up! Very cool but messy like you said!
The individual midi channels are still not visible and several other
things but most of it is there.
So I still suggest that the list starts emailing especially since the
AMS being broken is in front of apple now. "Engineers replicated same
exact issue, and they've gone ahead and escalated to development "

Hi List,
As most of you already know PT uses the "audio midi setup" for Midi
communication to external Midi devices.
If you have not yet ran the app go to your utilities folder and give
it a whirl!
After you take a peek at it you will notice that after you get past
the empty scroll area " where the midi devices are located By the
way you have to grab the mouse and randomly drag on it to get a midi
device selected" but after that the tool bar selections become
available.

Then the midi device options are pretty much usable.
below is some of my exchanges with apple since i have a current

Jon from apple mentioned that the more they know about the issue the
quicker it will get fixed!
I have a rack full of midi modules I am not ready to ditch yet and I
am sure I am not alone!

We need to start emailing apple.
