Getting VO out of my studio monitors
Hi list, sorry this is a bit off topic as it is not about PT. I'm currently helping a guy with a project and at the same time I'm testing cubase and neuendo to see if it's at all accessible. I just want to find out how would I go about routing VO to play out the internal line out jack on the mac pro and not through the main left and right of the soundcard in to the studio monitors?

You must set the system sound out put. There are a few ways to accomplish this. Go to system preferences in the apple menu. Go to the sounds area and click it to open. Then press on the output tab and choose the built in output in the table. This can also be done from with in audio midi setup. HTH --FC

Hi Kevin You mentioned that you were having trouble with control p and ;. You want to have link track and edit selection checked in the options menu. Once you do you will have much joy. I also wanted to mention audio during fast forward and rewind. which you may find nice. It's in preferences. Don't remember which tab at the moment. Nice work Kev --FC
Re: Strength not visible in quantize window. It is confirmed.
Hi Kevin, Just check the strength button and then punch in a strength number like 80 per-say. then on the num pad hit enter and away you go! BTW Make a selection from the combined quantize pop up button and the strength field usually comes up with a value of 82 which is just fine for most thangs If you want the full details give me a call. On one of the conferences, we had kind of a breakthrough whereby we found that typing in the fields in the quantize window did indeed indeed make changes, even though it was not reported by VO. The unfortunate thing is that voiceover sees everything but the actual strength field. Jason has confirmed with a sighted assistant that vo stops short of the actual strength field. We see the check box, but the field, which should have a 0 in it, is the very last element in the window, unfortunately, vo's window boundary is just before it. I thought I'd throw that out there, as we now need to come up with yet another work around to try and access this one field. Strength is so important that it really controls the robocity of the performance. Wow. Robocity. I think I just made up a word, and Vo's spell check didn't even flag it. Anyway, If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks to Jason for finding and reporting this to me. Kevin Chuck Reichel 954-742-0019 www.SoundPictureRecording.com
Re: the apple keyboard
Hey Yuma The standard apple usb keyboard still has a num pad. You have to choose this option with the new imacs and mac pros these days. They come by default with the numpadless bluetooth board. The usb one with numpad goes for $50 here in the states. If you've got a apple store near by just run in and pick one up. However, i remember somewhere that the apple keyboard with integrated numpad has been slashed. I got both bluetooth and wired apple keyboards for various puters but none has a numpad. Does this mean i have to find an older version somewhere on the net, or is there something that can be done to make an external usb numpad compatible with the editing modes in pt? Best Yuma
