Thanks Mike, I will let you know if this works, I am still going to try and
plug in a different keyboard first and see if that does the trick.

Hey poppa what you can also try,
Go to your home directory,
menu bar,
 go,
Library, preferences,
Look for your keyboard in probably “COM.apple.your keyboard”
send it to the trash…
While you are at it send the protools preference to the trash also empty the
trash, and restart hope this help On Jan 7, 2015, at 5:34 PM, Poppa Bear

 Papa,

It sounds like there's a system level problem with your num pad. There are
no commands to turn off the num pad in Pro Tools. It's either classic,
Transport or Shuttle (on HD systems). Apart from that, num lock and num
pad commander are the only other variables. Does num pad commander work
correctly? Can you enter values from the num pad? Can you enter counter
values? are you using an extended keyboard or is it a separate num pad?
 USB? BlueTooth?

Using a Mac Pro without a display

2015-01-09 Thread Rui Vilarinho

Hi guys, does the folowing quote matches your experience?
When using VoiceOver on a Mac that does not have a built-in video display
lpar;such as a Mac Mini or Mac Prorpar;, some applications may become slow
or unresponsive when no display is connected.

Connect a DVI, Mini-DVI, or Mini DisplayPort adapter lpar;depending on the
video output your Mac usesrpar; to the computer--the adapter doesn't
need to be connected to a display, just to your Mac.

Well, on the next days I's going to start using my new Mac Pro,although, I
dont want to use a display all the time. I bought a long HDMI cable just to
connect to a normal TV on the wall, to be use when I gonna need someone
with good vision to help me out, for example with the ilok license process.
Therefore, is it effective to use a Mac Pro with no display at all? Just
with Voice Over?
I also want to use it on live performances and carry around a display
isnt handy if you know what I mean!
Or, if not, could be resolved by just connect the HDMI cable to the Mac Pro,
so, not to the display?

Hope this makes sence, thanks,
Rui Vilarinho

 Hi Michael,

If your markers are time-based, move to the new location where you want each
marker to be positioned, press the decimal key on the num pad, enter the
marker number then, instead of pressing the decimal again (as you would
normally do to move to the marker location), press Enter on the num pad. This
will open the memory location's edit window. The current location will
replace the old location. Press Enter or Return. Now the marker will be at
the new location in the timeline.
