Audio selection trouble

2015-10-03 Thread Shawn Brock
Folks, in all projects i can't select audio. This just started, and for the
life of me i don't know why. Both link timeline and edit and link track to
selection are checked under options. The funny thing is if i uncheck link
timeline and edit selection, i can select audio, but not if it is checked. This
leads to a screwed up mess when trying to paste... Also, i cant copy a
selection and paste it to another playlist. The audio seems to copy, and if i
have PT play edit, the selection is correct, but when pasteing, no audio is
heard. So what gives? I should also say that i have yet to install the 12.2.1
update, and am still sitting on 12.2. I will try installing the update today
and see if it helps. Now that i think of it, i cant recall if i had done any
copying and pasteing after installing 12.2 but i'm pretty sure i have.

Thanks,
Shawn

Re: Audio selection trouble

2015-10-03 Thread John André Lium-Netland
Hi,

I run PT 12.2.1 with OSX 10.10, and selection/copY/paste mostly works just
fine. One thing to remember is to always make sure the Selector Tool in the
Cursor Tools cluster of the Edit window is selected. Also, deselect and
reselect a track and a selection range can straight things out in those cases
where you don’t get a selection to work properly.

Best,
John André

2015-10-03 Thread CHUCK REICHEL
Hi Eric,
Call them back & make them do a remote in to your box and straighten it out.
This will also drive home the VO Accessibility issues I and several others have
been raising with them!
I had one of there techs do the complete install process the first time I got
slate trigger just to drive home the VO issues!
Yes I actually take the time to promote VO! :)

YMMV

Yes all the time, but my the work box is running pt 9.03 for now. :)
All presets for slate trigger 1, were painstakingly, saved over to the pt
side my control/24 does recognize the parameters though.
Are you using "joe's" presets for pt?
By all means pump VoiceOver to slate tech support!
I've spoken to them many times and they are helpful for the most part.

2015-10-03 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Shawn,

In addition to what Jon mentioned, I would make sure you're in the edit window
while trying to perform any audio editing and, more importantly, make sure that
the timeline is displaying waveforms in the track view pop-up menu. Otherwise,
you'll hear audio but won't be editing it within the timeline.

Keep us posted.

Thanks guys. I should have disclosed in my last email that i had checked to
make sure wave form was displayed, and the selection tool was selected. I was
good on all of that. The problem came down to the fact that insert after
playback was checked. How or why i cant say, but it damn sure was. Maybe it was
my kids or maybe i hit the wrong keystroke while drunk, but either way that was
the provlem... I'm not even sure what insert after playback is used for, but it
sure had me by the nuts there lol. Never the less, thanks for trying to help me
guys, i'm grateful to you.

Re: Audio selection trouble

2015-10-03 Thread Slau Halatyn
Ah, you mean "Insert Follows Playback." Yeah, that'll bite you in the ass for
sure. When you go to check your selection by playing back for a moment, you
lose the selection and nothing gets copied or pasted. Control-n will toggle the
insertion following the playback. Glad you figured it out.

Re: good thunder bolt interface that is accessible with Pro Tools 12 as my Digi 003 is going out of service by Avid

2015-10-03 Thread Cameron Strife
Hi.

Sweetwater has all of your answers...

Here's the short version:

Yes, they require external power and most connect via USB. Your late
2011 mac book pro should have two USB 2.0 ports, ethernet, a firewire
800 port and an Intel Thunderbolt port and remember that you can use
many different adapters with the thunderbolt port as well as daisy
chaining devices so connection wise, you really have nothing to worry
about...

As far as control surfaces with motorized faders that work with pt,
you have the Baranger x touch series, the older baranger BCF2000,
mackie control universal pro, the avid artist mix, avid S3, ssl
nucleas, and digital mixers with built in control surface layers like
the tascam dm2400 and the Baranger X32 producer etc.

I hope that helps.

Cameron.
