Hey guys i’ve finally done it. i have upgraded to protools 12.6. all up and
running nicely. I am just wondering if anyone has a copy of the podcast that
Slau did a year or so back about all the accessibility changes that have been
made in p.t. 12.i can’t seem to locate it here and i’d like to go through it
again. If it’s not around is there any way of finding out what we now have
access too.

I have listened to a preview of sound forge on mac, I love it so much,

on sonar or pro tools now, I can put a reverb and delay, just for the
narrater or speaker while speaking, but after finish recording, I can
tern the fx off, and do my editings, then delete the Fx, or change it
or anything, which means that the fx is not attached to the original
wave that it was recorded, on sound forge this is not possible at all.
so, can Amadeos pro, o raudacity, record with a reverb for instance,
and it can be removed after that?

Re: OT band in a box

2016-12-13 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland

I'm the Band in a Box guy who you refer to.

Can I have a phone number off list to speak with you about this?

I think us talking via voice would make this easier, as I have quite a lot
to say on this subject.

Also, this number is published already online, so I don't mind giving it out
here. A lot of you already have my number, so I don't really care, it's
fine.

You also can call me, if that would be easier for you.

704-256-8010, then choose option 1 from the main IVR menu. This will reach
me directly.

If you don't get me, which you should, but if you don't, then leave me a
voicemail with a number to reach you.

I'm available practically this entire evening, and all day tomorrow as well.
My schedule is very very very open, and this number rings me at my home, so
don't worry about work hours. It's OK, just call when you can. If this
doesn't work for you, then let me know, and we can maybe do Facetime, or
Skype. I'll do e-mail, but again, I have quite a few thoughts regarding
BIAB.

The short answer though is, on Windows, it's accessible with JAWS scripts,
but don't dare try it with NVDA. It's right now a disastrous mess over there
with NVDA. I'm trying to get that resolved, but it's coming along very very
slowly.

On the mac, I'm told that it's not accessible at all, but they are aware of
this, and are incredibly seriously looking into it. They wanted to fully
learn Voiceover where they could use it practically in their sleep before
they tried taking on making it accessible, as this way, they knew exactly
what things we have to encounter as blind individuals.

So, though not really worth the mac version now, as far as I know, it is in
the works of getting there.

Call me though, or let me call you, one, and I will explain more the
specifics.

clgillan...@gmail.com

Or again:

704-256-8010 Then choose option 1.

I welcome any of you all on this list to call me in regards to this topic.

Chris.

OT band in a box

2016-12-13 Thread Shawn Brock
I'm teaching a class where band in a box could come in useful. Only thing is I
am not sure about the accessibility of it? It seems to me that I recall someone
on here sending out a track they made with band in a box, but my memory isn't
what it used to be. Anyone know if it is accessible with voiceover? Or in worst
case, accessible on windows?

Re: Using iLok

2016-12-13 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Peter,
Sorry you're having trouble. First, make sure you have the latest version of
the license manager. Go to ilok.com and download the latest
build. Apart from that, when you launch the license manager, the very first
thing you have to do is log in. If you've entered your credentials in the past
and checked the checkbox to remember your info, simply pressing Return after
launching will put you in the application. From there, everything you do is via
keyboard shortcuts (found in the menu items) or by Tab and arrow keys. In case
you missed it, here's a link to a demo

I did of the license manager when it first became accessible. 99% of what's in
the demo still applies. I see Phil and Mike responded as well so you're in good
hands.
Cheers,
Slau

Re: Using iLok

2016-12-13 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Steve,
Nothing really changed in terms of workflow. The main thing you'll notice right
away is that sends are now grouped just like inserts, which is how they should
have appeared in the first place. Apart from that, there are a bunch of UI
tweaks but nothing that fundamentally changes things. I say all of this purely
from an accessibility point of view. The program itself has new features and
that's a different matter but things like track commit, freeze and off-line
bounce are completely usable.
HTH,

RE: Using iLok

Hey Pete. Can give you a shout on Skype. Just say when.

Subject: Using iLok

Hi all,

I feel as though I have wasted hours, perhaps days, trying to work out
how to use the iLok Licence manager. I always end up getting sighted
help, but Slau has said that it's accessible. Would any kind soul be
willing, either to write a few steps to explain what to do when you need
to activate a licence, or if that's hard, give me ten minutes on
Facetime or Skype? I'd be so grateful for any help. I used to be able
to crack these interfaces but perhaps I'm just getting stupid.

Is it just me, and Is everyone else happily using it, or is it even a
tiny bit tricky?

Best,

Peter
