Re: Midi help needed

2017-01-10 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Joy,

On occasion, when working with MIDI or Instrument tracks, the focus gets lost a
bit and it might be necessary to close and reopen the session or, if that
doesn't do it, quit and relaunch Pro Tools. Most of the time, however, as long
as the track and an edit range are selected, things work smoothly. Sometimes I
also find it helpful to have an audio track showing for the purpose of moving
the insertion point to it and then back to the instrument track and that
sometimes is all it takes to restore the focus.
HTH,
Slau

Hi Joy,
First of all you half to have made a selection in the track your going to
quantize.
Second of all you half to make sure the track is still selected in the tracks
list.
I mark the track with a hotspot in the tracks list and query the hotspot to
make sure its still selected before trying to edit it! :)
I've noticed that tracks drop out of being selected for a while now, and still
need to track down what causes it to get un selected.
But most of all I "ALWAYS" hide all tracks not being edited to avoid issues
that might come up.

Midi help needed

2017-01-10 Thread 'Joy Bausch' via Pro Tools Accessibility
Hey list,
i've encountered the following situation when tracking MIDI in PT12.7. Maybe
someone can either reproduce this, or point out what i'm doing wrong.
Scenario: I have, let's say, 6 Instrument tracks going, and record on them in
sequence. So, 16 bars, then add another 8, and so on.
I've noticed that for some reason the quantize-function stops working after a
while. I call it up, option 0, and the apply button is greyed out.
Why is that?

thanks for any suggestions,

Joy

 Hi Slau,

This app (roger) seams to be completely unaccessible. What did you see, when
you launched the app for the first time?

Re: Audio interface problem

2017-01-10 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Niklas,
At this point, you need to troubleshoot your system with Avid because, if your
interface appears in your Playback Engine window and the Default button is
greyed out, there's something wrong. It could be user error but it could very
well be a software/hardware issue beyond what I can speculate upon. Give it a
shot and let us know what it ended up being so we can all learn from your
experience with this issue.
Cheers,
Slau

SV: Audio interface problem

2017-01-10 Thread Niklas Karlsson
Hi and thanks again Slau!

I’m sorry but I’ve already choosed my interface and I am sure it is the right
one.
Unfortunately the ”Default” button in the I/O setup dialogue is still greyed
out.
Have no idea what’s going on. ☹

Hi Niklas,
Go to setups>Playback Engine and make sure your interface is selected in the
pop-up menu Then go to the I/O Setup and you should be able to bring up the
default paths for the chosen interface.

I tried to delete all input paths yesterday, but apparently I made a mistake,

What to do? ☺

Hi Niklas,
If you saved an I/O Setup to use with your particular interface (and if you
haven't, you should), You can delete your input and paths and import your
setup. Otherwise, delete all paths and press the "Default" button in the I/O
Setup dialog and the tables will populate with all available paths for your
connected interface.

I'm sorry that this may be a little off-topic, but I thought i'll ask it here
anyway.

I'm having a problem with my audio interface and would really appreciate your
help:
When I open a session, wether it is an existing one or a new one, and try to
record-enable a track, the system says "The track could not be record enabled
because it doesn't have both an active input and output assigned".
When I check my in- and outputs on an earlier created track it looks fine, but
it still doesn't work.
If I create a new track, it’s showing "No input" and I can't choose any of my
usual inputs.

Hope I explained it clear enough! :)

Thanks very much in advance!

All the best,
Niklas
