Re: Changing parameters in Waves plugins

2017-08-17 Thread Slau Halatyn
I do like Avid's ReVibe II and even the older Reverb One. Altiverb is fantastic
and, if you're a Lexicon fan, the guy who runs Exponential Audio is the guy who
did the algorithms for Lexicon (the original hardware units). Their reverb
plug-ins are everything you'd want from Lexicon and more. Word of caution: with
a surface, you're OK with the exponential stuff but the parameters don't
respond to VoiceOver alone. That said, he's been responsive to the issue of
accessibility and I think it's just a matter of time before the issue is
resolved.

I don't use Waves plug-ins anymore but, if you're using Flo Tools, you can
create a Plug-in View that will click on the coordinates for the
parameters so you can simply type in the value. It would take some sighted
assistance to initially find those places on screen but, from then on,
you'll be able to enter values after navigating and clicking the mouse. Of
course, that would have to be done for each separate plug-in. Just an
 option.

SOme questions Regarding Flo tools and Protools IN general

2017-08-17 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hell all:

After using FLo tools, I have some questions that hope I can find an answer.
1- with Cmd-f4, I can read the counter, but it reads it in minutes,
can I read the counter in bars? like bar 1 beat 2 etc?
2- if I need to change my numpad 1 and 2, from moving by ticks to
moving by mesures, a sited sound engineer told me that, in the edit
window, in the edit claster, I can choose the I think Gred view or
something instead of slept, this means that it will move by mesures
not by ticks or seconds.
sorry if I can not express will but hope my question makes sense.

3- While moving between regents inside a track, pressing tap and
option tap is working, but some times, I press and don't know where am
I, and don't know if I'm at the end of what, so how can I be sure that
am at the end of my session?
with the return key I can go to the start of the session, but to the
end, what can I use?

Thanks

Re: Changing parameters in Waves plugins

Cool. Yes, some folks are very influenced by what others think and have a brand
loyalty that sometimes overrides their better judgement. That's natural.
Further, some folks are just bat shit crazy ;) Nevertheless, I can appreciate
the question. When I initially made the jump full-time from the much older
version of Pro Tools to the newer, I definitely inquired with a few colleagues
to see what they were using and couldn't live without. I saw what people were
using day to day and made it a point to check out those products. Of course, we
all know it's the ear and not the gear. Still, it's nice to eliminate a
variable that one need not question. Cheers,

 Hi,

When interacting with the parameters in E-Channel and other Waves plugins,
I find that it takes a whole lot of arrowing to change the parameters. Any
tricks out there to change the parameters faster or set a specific value
for a parameter? I miss the way it works in the AVID plugin parameters :)

Re: Connecting Flutetools to My Protools 12

2017-08-17 Thread Slau Halatyn
Hi Ramy,
If you're getting that message, the track with which you're interacting is
technically not scrolled into view. In the edit window, with all your tracks
shown, press the Page Up key a few times to make sure the first track is
entirely visible. VoiceOver sees things that are not necessarily visible on
screen. After having scrolled up, navigate to a track again and repeat the
process from before. Make sure you have the mouse pointer following the
VoiceOver cursor in the voiceOver Utility under the Navigation tab. Hopefully,
this will now work for you.

Hi Slau:
Thanks so much for your reply.
I realized that the Flo tools is right, sorry for my spelling mistake, you know
that english is not my first Language.
The flo tools is working now, i downloaded the v2, and it’s working now, as
expected, Thanks again.

concerning setting the track heights, i can set 1 track s you teach me, but to
set all the tracks, i went to a track, and i use the Option-accent while the
mouse is on, but i got a message that Object is outside the window.
so, how can i set the track heights for all the tracks`

2017-08-17 Thread Nathaniel Kile
Does answer my question, thank you very much.
It seems that you have found all tools to be useful in one way or another
regardless of the name brand. I can really appreciate many of the built-in pro
tools plug-ins as well. I always like to get other peoples perspective on these
things, I don't like to get hung up on following the crowd, I'd like to be able
to sit back watch, patient myself and get in my own lane.
Take care, I am still around, always lurking checking things out just not
actively asking questions right now. I am wearing about four different hats
working three different jobs so I am very busy. Keep up the good work!!
