 Hi all:

Need to know if there is a better Strategy of editing an audio take
 contains some backing vocal?
the VOcal asked me not to shut down the track, which means, he will
sing in some places he liked, it was a Rap song.
so, while editing, i have all the audio track as 1 track, is there a
better way of editing it just removing unwanted Breething between a
 long distance?
let’s say that the Rapper started his rap on bar 2, for 2 beats, he
keeps silent til bar 9. and start singing again.
of cores, i do not tknow when he will sing to open and close the
record, which means that in editing, i must listen to the hole track
 to edit it.
sited engineers tcan see the places that he sang as strong waves, and
 start editing before them.
 is there an accessibl solution?

Re: Editing a long take

2018-11-22 Thread peter bosher
Hi Ramy,

Two things which might help you:

In ProTools preferences, operation tab, transport cluster, check the
checkbox "audio during fast-forward/rewind", set the "custom FF/RW
speed" to your preference but I find around 500 % is good. then make
sure that the numeric keypad mode is set to "transport".

Now you should be able to hear samples as you fast-forward with num-pad
2 or rewind with numpad 1.

The second thing is that you can hear playback at increasingly fast
speeds by holding down the control key and pressing num-pad 6 through 9.

HTH,

Peter
