Steven Slate Drums

2024-07-03 Thread clgilland07
Does anyone know if Steven Slate Drums 5 happens to be NKS ready, or if in
ProTools, it can be u easily? I do have Keyboard Maestro, if needed.

RE: protools 2024.3

2024-03-09 Thread clgilland07
OK, look. My message very well may have been overheated, that's a fair
assessment, and I respect your thoughts. that however said, let me clarify
something.

I didn't mean to imply that the next major OS would be released in 3 months.
What I meant was, it would be announced then. WWDC is usually when they
announce new major OS's now with a pattern of once a year every June when the
conference is held.

I didn't mean that it was necessarily released then in the actual month of
June. You're correct that normally officially it would be around October.

Anyway, fair enough about your opinion. I happen still to disagree with it on
some small level, but you're right, I could have been more civil in how I
presented my message earlier. I'll give you that. I apologize.

Chris.

Hello Chris,
About your message: in holland we say it's somewhat overheated!
And it is not correct. Apple releases a next update to their os about oktobedr
and Sonoma is released in oktober 2023.
So thats's not one and a half year old.
And Avid is not the only audio software builder that takes more time to test
the software. E.g. Korg, roland etc are still working on updates for Sonoma en
Apple silicon.
So Chris cool down a bit.
Tom.

I guess, we are just never going to see a single day in our lives when
ProTools, voiceover, and Sonoma will be a reality. Let's face it. We're already
into the month of March, and that means we only have three months until the
next major operating system for the Mac is released, whatever it will be
outside of Sonoma. this is pretty much exactly why I have switched to my
primary daw being reaper. I'm sorry to say it, but I have almost completely
lost respect for avid at this point.

I understand the argument that people like Slau have made about them having to
get things right, and how professional industries can't afford to have things
breaking in a production environment, but, there comes a point where this
becomes absolutely ridiculous! They have had more than ample amount of time
over this last year, nearly year and a half to get things working. reaper
pretty much worked almost within three months after Sonoma was released. I
understand it might not be industry-standard, but, I've been able to do pretty
much anything and everything in reaper that I ever would've done and pro tools.

this might piss some people off me making this rant here on list, but I call it
for what it is. And what it is, is, ridiculous! take it or leave it, you can
agree with my assessment, or you can decide to disagree, but either way, I'm
not changing my view on this.

Chris.

RE: Be My Eyes/ Be My AI

2024-02-07 Thread clgilland07
I don’t want to start a warfalem here, so I’m going to once give my thoughts on
this, then leave it to rest.

First, I dont’ want to take your message out of context, so let me be sure I’m
understanding correctly what you’re saying.

Are you saying, if I hear you correctly, that you randomly take a photo with Be
My AI part of Be My Eyes, then, once you get the conversation thread started
with that random question, you then turn around and start randomly asking it
completely unrelated questions from that of the initial taken photo, now,
asking it things about ProTools instead?

I’d definitely think that is not what this service is for, and thad that this
probably would fall in the lines of violation of the Be my Eyes TOS, I’m
willing though to stand corrected. Further, I’m also willing to give merrit to
the fact I may be misinterpreting the meaning of your initial message, and I’m
open for further clarification if that’s the case.

I think a better AI service for something like this if it were needed would be
Chat GPT, or maybe Google Bard, or even Bing AI/Copilate.

Like I said, I don’t intend to drag this on. In fact, I have no intentions of
responding further to this.

I welcome any thoughts to be sent to me privately, as long as they are civil in
nature. My reason for writing this response is not to belittle nor attack
anyone. This is just my opinion, though I realize it may not be that of others’.

2023-03-14 Thread clgilland07
Yup, I got the temporary installer. My friend sent it to me the other day for
Ventura. Looks like I was already on the most up to date version though,
although ProTools definitely needed updating.

That's now taken care of. Do you know anything about that virtual synth I
referenced?

Hello Chris!

If Pro Tools is running, go to the system menus and check the Flo Tools version
in the Keyboard Maestro sub menu.
Current version still is 2022.4.
In addition you can find an installer for Ventura in the PTAccess Dropbox.

Hello Chris!

Are you running Pro Tools 2022.12 or an older version?

Go to the status menus and quit the Keyboard Maestro engine.
After that, try again.
If the issue still exists, it's a new Pro Tools keyboard shortcut and not a Flo
Tools thing.
You could try to free up the shortcuts again by using the quite new "Keyboard
Shortcuts" feature from the "Setup" menu.

Does that help?

RE: Amplitube 5 in PT

2023-03-14 Thread clgilland07
Shawn,

In regards to guitar rig, I've heard of some people with VOCR that got it to
work, kind of sort of, but I sure never could get it to work that way.

Now that said, if you have a Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol midi
controller, then yes, it's completely accessible, but realize that the caveat
is, you have to instantiate it on an instrument track, not an audio track, so
if you're literally playing guitar, then no. It won't work, unless that is, you
happen to be one of the lucky people who with VOCR can get at the presets and
such.

At this time though, we don't accessibly have a way to route audio through
Komplete Kontrol, so you could put it on a virtual instrument, but otherwise...
yeah...

Chris.

RE: Amplitube 5 in PT

I found it as well both on Windows and on the Mac to be totally useless.

Subject: Amplitube 5 in PT

All,

I recently downloaded Amplitube 5 with hopes of using it in PT, however, even
though it will show up, I cannot access a single parameter or preset. I wanted
to ask, is it this inaccessible, or perhaps, I am doing something wrong?
Everything shows up as authorized, and when I have my wife look at it as a
standalone, she is able to page through the parameters and amplifiers. They
have some good products, but if this is the way they work with VO, I guess
they’re useless.
Thanks,
Shawn

Ron,

We already discussed this, you and I several times. You have to have a session
open. You can't just be in the dash with no session open. This is normal
behavior, if that is the case.

Only the developers can do that and I suspect this is one of those things that
would simply never be included with automation parameters.

OK, that's what I suspected. Is it something I could get Aira to help with Team
Viewer to make it automatable, or is that something done by the plugin venders
themselves, and out of our control.

Yes. Within the effects area, only parameters that can be automated are
visible. So, for example, a pop-up menu would not fall under that category and
would not be seen by VoiceOver.

When you say "nonautomatable", I assume that would mean the parameter wouldn't

Although there are presets, I don't think they account for meter. There's
probably a non-automatable element which controls meter from the Boom UI. Not
sure if there's a feasible workaround.

I tried changing the time signature to 3/4 as you described, but it definitely
didn't change the patterns out to 3/4. Should it have?

There are 2 things to try. though I must also say that I don't use boom much,
so thereby can not comment on the recording of their sample patterns. On with
the things to try:

First change your time signature from 4/4 to 3/4. You do this by hitting
command 1 to go to the time operations window, and there theres 2 textfields to
change your signature. You should then hear patterns in 3/4 as desired.

Second, if this for whatever reason doesn't work, on the lower keys of your
keyboard, you can play the drum samples like a standard midi drum kit. You
could always create a pattern of your own doing it that way, aftr all the boom
plug inself is largely inaccessible other than playing the keys on the keyboard
and choosing presets. Hope this helps.

Rory

plays the drum pattern associated with that preset.

The problem is, I’ve gone through a lot of the presets, but don’t seem to find

I was curious if there is a setting somewhere within the plugin window that
would let me configure the time signature it’s using, as perhaps when looking,
I missed something which should have been fairly obvious. Or, is it something
where the patterns to choose from are pretty well pre-fix recorded, you get
what you get.

Thanks for any help.

Accessibility of Smart reverb?

2020-09-08 Thread clgilland07
Hey guys,

I was curious if anyone's tried the new plugin from Sonible called Smart
Reverb. If so, what was your experience with it from a Voiceover standpoint?
Did it appear to be accessible enough to get the job done?
