Accessible Drumming Plugins?

2018-06-20 Thread Des Delgadillo
Hi all,

I’m a pretty new PT user and I’d like to start slow, but I hear that there are
plugins out there that I can use as drum tracks. Primarily I’ve been recording
some acoustic music but I’d like to be able to plug in an electric guitar as
well.

Can anyone recommend a useable drumming plugin? I also have like 0 experience
installing or configuring plugins beyond the default plugins that come with PT,
so any direction would be super appreciated.

Feel free to email me off-list as I feel I’ll have a bunch of follow-up
questions and would hate to clog up the list with traffic.

Thanks so much.

This is probably gonna be blasphemy to say, but GarageBand is free and Drummer
is quite underrated especially as a songwriting tool. Get in Touch off list if
you want to set up a time to have a crash course. Otherwise there is one of the
ProTools drum instrument that I remember Slau mentioned that would be useful
for that capacity as well.

Re: Accessible Drumming Plugins?

2018-06-20 Thread Des Delgadillo
Thanks. I used to use Garage Band quite a bit, but for some reason the program
has been insufferable with VO for me lately, changing my focus in the middle of
editing and doing some other things I have no idea how to fix.

Curious to learn more about this alternative for PT.

Admittedly I Have not used GarageBand A lot on High Sierra but didn’t have
much issues when I used it on Sierra. I use drummer in logic more these days
but have used it enough in GarageBand to know it works the same and
considering GarageBand is free thats why recommended it over logic. I think its
strike thats is the ProTools included instrument that I was discussing with
Slau on list sometime ago that should be useful for songwriting, if you want
to explore something inside ProTools.

It would be super cool to have a singular resource that compiles reviews and
descriptions of accessible plugins. Does something like that exist? If not,
maybe I’ll make it a project of mine.

Not sure if Slau is seeing this or anyone with knowledge of PT plugins, but I
would love to connect off-list and learn a bit more about the options available
to me as a very new singer-songwriter just looking to get his feet wet in the
production side of things.
