Re: More automation question.
Hi John, Yep I mentioned Clip Gain in my response but the problem with that particular approach is that, if you want to change the value by several decibels, there's an abrupt audible change at the beginning and end of the selection. It's true that, in a given track, that change might not be detectable at all but, yes, it certainly is an option. Hi, Another feature that is great for such situations, is to make a selection and change the gain for that portion of the track by holding down control-shift and use up/down arrow keys. the amount of change for each arrow key press is set in the preferences. If you change the overall level of the fader, you will still see the same amount of relative change in the track volume, since the actual gain of that part of the track is changed. It really works great! :) Best, John André -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group. Re: More automation question.
Hi JP, In HD, instead of write or touch mode, there's a trim mode that adjusts everything according to the delta value of the fader (or the difference between 0 dB and the new fader position). In other words, let's say your actual automation had a fader at minus 10 dB. When you get into trim mode and adjust the fader to be three decibels lower, the new fader automation would be at minus 13 decibels and any subsequent fader moves would be proportionately three decibels lower than the original values. That's it in a nutshell. I would say the best thing to do is to simply redo the automation in the section you want. Make a selection of the range, turn on pre and post roll and set the automation mode to Write. Make a pass and see if you're happy with it. If not, set it to write mode again and repeat until you're satisfied. Hello all. I've been wondering this for quite some time now...I'm not even sure if it's possible. Let's say in the middle of mixing a track, I want to fade some selection down at a certain point, and then fade them back up. I'd normally do this with volume automation.
