Re: Mixing my Vocal track
Sorry if multiple copies of this come through. My e-mail client is being an idiot this morning, putting it mildly. OK, for anyone who wants to prove to Ramy and me that Harmony EVO really does work, here's the zip of my Twinkle session. Never mind that I have a cold, so my vocals are utter crap to start with in this. I didn't mix, master, edit, or anything in this. Normally my stuff is way better than this. I did this just to prove a point mainly, so forgive that I only put maybe 5 minutes into this recording. I set EVO though exactly as Steve said to. I'm telling you though, it sounds disgusting! I can't for the life of me figure out where in the plugin I'm going wrong. If someone can not only fix it, but can tell me what they did differently... um... yeah... https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/of3du5 Chris. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group. Re: Mixing my Vocal track
Yeah thats the issue with that trick is it can phase sounding. The trick really is to lower the vocals so that its just a hint of the left and right vocals to fill things out more so than keeping them close in volume to the center vocal. Sometimes if works better say if you copy the second chorus to the first chorus, duplicate it and pan that left and right and then slightly pitch shift that, but that relies on the second chorus being sang well enough that it tightly lines up with the first chorus in order for that to work. Sometimes too if they did multiple takes of a part you can use one of the other takes as well once again providing that it lines up tightly with the main vocal. > On Sep 10, 2018, at 6:13 AM, Ramy Moustafa wrote: > > Steve hi: > > I tried using the Pitch2 and i did 3 and minus 3, in my 1 vocal track, but > i got faze, > I also try to move one of the tracks forward, i moved the other 1 backword, > by a very small amount, but the same result. > > Any other suggestions? > > >> On Sep 9, 2018, at 11:58 PM, Steve Martin wrote: >> >> If you only have one vocal to work with, isotope Nectar and Antares Harmony >> Engine are two of the better plug ins I have used. Re: Mixing my Vocal track
Not aware of a demo, however the scripts in the dropbox folder has the steps to follow when using the scripts. You can grab a demo license and try out Vocalign Project with the scripts and following those steps and see how you get along. > On Sep 10, 2018, at 3:50 AM, Ramy Moustafa wrote: > > Hi Steve: > > Thanks so much for all your experience in this feeld. > Concerning getting the Harmony Enjin, I think it’s not possible to get it > these days, but I Have already THe Izotop, will give it a try. > > Concerning the Vocalign, before Perciousing it, I need to be sure that i can > use it, i tried on One of my friend’s daw, and i can not quantize all my > vocal tracks. > Is there a demo for it from a blind Prespective? > > > Thanks in advance > > >> On Sep 9, 2018, at 11:58 PM, Steve Martin wrote: >> >> If you only have one vocal to work with, isotope Nectar and Antares Harmony >> Engine are two of the better plug ins I have used. Re: Mixing my Vocal track
Hi Steve: Thanks so much for all your experience in this feeld. Concerning getting the Harmony Enjin, I think it’s not possible to get it these days, but I Have already THe Izotop, will give it a try. Concerning the Vocalign, before Perciousing it, I need to be sure that i can use it, i tried on One of my friend’s daw, and i can not quantize all my vocal tracks. Is there a demo for it from a blind Prespective? Thanks in advance > On Sep 9, 2018, at 11:58 PM, Steve Martin wrote: > > If you only have one vocal to work with, isotope Nectar and Antares Harmony > Engine are two of the better plug ins I have used. Re: Mixing my Vocal track
If you only have one vocal to work with, isotope Nectar and Antares Harmony Engine are two of the better plug ins I have used. It can generate unison doubles or harmonies up to 4 voices. Harmony Engine probably has a slightly less complicated interface as its just the harmony tool unlike Nectar which is an entire vocal mixing tool in one. Harmony Engine also has a choir features you can add additional voices to each of the 4 voices. Harmony Engine was just on sale last month and if you check ebay you may find a few dealers still selling it for the sale price of $99. SonyOxford has a plug in called doubler that a lot of people like but I haven’t used it myself. If you have multiple voices and you need to time align them, Vocalign project is probably the least expensive and best way to do this. It’s bigger brother Revoice Pro, will let you generate Doubles (if once again you only have one vocal track to work with) or do the time aligning aspects of Vocalign as well. Also, there is the manual version of creating wide doubles using a pitch plug in in pro tools. Basically duplicate the vocal twice. Pan one duplicate left and one duplicate right. Then using the pitch plug in, shift one up anywhere from 3 to 12 or so cents, and shift the other one down by the same amount nd then lower the volume of the duplicates to taste. Regarding Vocalign or Revoice Pro, scripts for using them in pro tools s I believe exist in the dropbox folder. Nectar or Harmony Engine I have not used in ProTools myself but I have heard of others on the list doing so so I assume they should be accessible. Also I am selling a Vocalign Project license so contact me off list if you are interested. Hope something here got you going in the right direction. > On Sep 9, 2018, at 1:40 PM, Ramy Moustafa wrote: > > Hi all Again today: > > One of my very big problems while Recording songs here is the Vocal, most > Singers came to my studio are not professional to perform a good backing > vocal track. > So from Yesterday i decided to try finding another tecniques to achieve a > good vocal track from a person that can sing just 1 good time :D > But all good things that i found were Videos, they are using the Deesser > Plugins but i can not know what are Parameeters that they are moving etc. > SOme videos they used just 1 solo track, and converted it to A solid GOod > Backing vocal, teh result was not bad at all. specially by this way, i will > avoid the Syncing problem when singing more than 1 vocal track. > > So, need to know from a blind e experience, what can we do to improve our > vocal mixing? > if i have just 1 good take, or i have more than 8 takes, but need them to > sound like tied vocal? what are the accessible plugins that we can use to > achieve that? > > Thanks in advance and sorry again for my long question but this is a very > common Problem here. > Thanks again > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Pro Tools Accessibility" group. > To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an > email to ptaccess+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Pro Tools Accessibility" group.
