Re: what is thhe best protools version with vo?
As far as i know all ten installers has the RTAS and AAX versions of the plug isn. after installing, just pull the AAX folder and PT will fall back to the RTAS version. 11 is AAX only so you wouldn't be able to use any RTAS plug ins at all. So basically all you would be able to do is record and edit with it but no mixing really. That faster than real time bounce would be nice though. Re: what is thhe best protools version with vo?
Hi, As I got a boxed version of pro tools 10.0 which had the RTAS plugins what I usually do is install that version then upgrade to the newest version from the upgrade center and install it over the old installation even when the directions say to uninstall the older version so I don't lose the plugins. Is this the best way to go about upgrading to the latest version of pro tools 10 latest version or are the old plugins included in the newer installers? Also, as I have a boxed version of pro tools 10 if I should ever wish to upgrade to pro tools 11 what is the best method to do this as I don't have an account with Avid and has anyone yet messed around with pro tools 11 and mountain lion as the only main reason currently I wish to upgrade is for the offline bouncing but will pro tools 11 if the RTAS plugins installed for 10 be able to access these I know they won't work with offline bouncing but if I wish to just use it in it's current state? Lion (10.7) is still the best version of OSX to use with pro tools. Pro Tools 9 or Pro TOols 10 work fine. Though with pro tools 10 you will have to remove all the AAX plug ins since they aren't accessible. Doing this will force Pro TOols to use the Accessible RTAS plug ins.
