Hey, also, if things get to where you can't unselect your tracks for some 
reason, creat a new track, like a dummy track or something by using 
Shift-Command-N and the new track will be the one selected. You may never 
run into this situation, but I have had to do it once or twice when PT was 
acting cranky and sometimes I have just had to close the mix window or 
protools altogether and reopen it when she is getting finicky.

If all your tracks or soloed,
You can go to and interact with any track,
VO, +shift, +, m on the solo button and it will move all tracks to
the opposite state.

If you go to your track table Control, + semicolon
Selects the next adjacent track.
Control, +p selects the previous adjacent track.
By the way do command+option+1 to make sure the first keyboard focus
button is enabled.
