Re: Slau, FYI
Hi Slau, Thanks! Great simple advice! I thought it may have been a VoiceOver issue, perhaps I will drop a note to Apple. Take care, Sean Sent from my iPhone So forgive my brevity! Here’s a way to at least bring up a list of selected tracks: 1. Interact with the track list table. 2. Bring up the Item Chooser and type the word “selected.” VoiceOver will narrow down the list to only the tracks that are selected. Hope that helps, Slau > On Aug 1, 2016, at 8:48 AM, Sean A. Hi Sean, I know what you’re talking about but it’s a VoiceOver issue and not a Pro Tools thing. What VoiceOver is actually saying is, “Rows (whatever) to (whatever) of (whatever) selected.” VoiceOver sees this as a table and when non contiguous items in a table are selected, it appears that VoiceOver doesn’t speak individual items the way you’re suggesting. Slau, FYI
Hi Slau, Just something I have noticed. Not any kind of a deal breaker. In more recent history of Pro Tools development, (and or Voiceover); the information verbalized has definitely improved. When utilizing a hot spot on the track list table, Voiceover now speaks the selected tracks, and this is very cool. However, the information verbalized is not necessarily correct. For example, if you have selected tracks (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10 through 20) instead of a completely contiguous range, Voiceover still reports the selection as being “Tracks 1 through 20 selected.” One would expect the output to be more like, “Tracks 1,3,5,7, 9, and 10 through 20 are selected.” Perhaps this is a suggestion for a feature update for Avid? But I don’t know if this is a function of Voiceover exclusively or if this is a Pro Tools issue. Again, not a deal breaker, just a FYI. It would improve one big process of having to verify track selections before performing a major action on a series of tracks. Thanks as always for your efforts.
