Thanks for all your efforts and work Art! Also for coming to find me and
giving me a ride to TPAC when I got lost in Santa Clara. Not all chairs
would do that :)

Thanks Art. You were there from the first day I showed up at W3C with a
light but steady hand on the tiller. Thank you for all your help.

We won't be able to fill Art's shoes but we'll try to keep the group
moving along with a light touch while still closing issues and making
progress.

Cheers,

Adrian.

Art - thanks for all the contributions to the web standards community over the
years.

It has been my good fortune to work with you for a number of years. First as a
colleague, learning the ropes from the best, and after moving on to new places,
stay connected.

I started to reflect the past after reading Chaals' mail, and it struck me it
was indeed ~10 years ago WAF WG [1] and Web API WG [2] were the new hotness.
That was the time when Ajax/XHR was becoming a thing. Heck, even the Web API
WG's logo had that shiny Ajax-age reflection on it, and a beta badge -- good
times!

Cheers,

-Anssi

Hi Art,

Yes, thank you very much for chairing the WG for so long. This group
has under your chairing been one of the W3C WGs that has moved the web
forward the most.

Thank you so much for your ever calm leadership! It's been great to
get to work with you!

/ Jonas

Likewise, Art - you will be missed. It was a true pleasure working with you
over the years.

Art steps down - thank you for everything

2016-01-28 Thread Chaals McCathie Nevile

Hi folks,

as you may have noticed, Art has resigned as a co-chair of the Web
Platform group. He began chairing the Web Application Formats group about
a decade ago, became the leading co-chair when it merged with Web APIs to
become the Web Apps working group, and was instrumental in making the
transition from Web Apps to the Web Platform Group. (He also chaired
various other W3C groups in that time).

I've been very privileged to work with Art on the webapps group for so
many years - as many of you know, without him it would have been a much
poorer group, and run much less smoothly. He did a great deal of work for
the group throughout his time as co-chair, efficiently, reliably, and
quietly.

Now we are three co-chairs, we will work between us to fill Art's shoes.
It won't be easy.

Thanks Art for everything you've done for the group for so long.

Good luck, and I hope to see you around.
