Re: [pygame] Re: Tendrils
I pulled out my previous, half-dead hard drive, and found Tendrils there. (If the current archive isn't working for people, I can make a ZIP from that copy and give it to someone with hosting space for it.) The old copy contains the same "crack.nfo" file, though. Odd.
Re: [pygame] Re: Tendrils
I suppose somebody could have "cracked" the windows installer, thinking they were stealing something, but from the original (and now expired) site, it looks like the author distributed source for linux/mac, so it seems odd to have that crack file in there. You can see the original site for the game in the wayback machine in the internet archive here: http://web.archive.org/web/20060427132201/http://members.cox.net/swt2/Tendrils/ I suppose talking to the author could help understand what is going on. It looks like at one point [EMAIL PROTECTED] was an email contact about the game, and the "main programmer" submitted a game "microbattle" to the 4th Ludum Dare 48 Hour game competition under the name "dumple" here's an archive link for the expired microbattle page: http://web.archive.org/web/20050124094142/members.cox.net/swt2/Microbattle/ On 6/26/07, Jason Massey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Probably cracked by an eleven year old. :) I remember doing something similar at that age with tetris on my Commodore 64. I have a copy of Tendrils which, as far as I remember, I got by following the link from the PyGame website (now dead) -- and it contains this file too. It doesn't seem to make any sense -- what need is there to crack an open-source game? Maybe it's an easter egg put there by the author? Anyway, if anyone wants the version I've got, let me know (it's called "Tendrils.20040818.zip", sized 48MB). I can also supply a version that's been turned into a MacOSX .app if wanted. -- Greg

Well... that's good to know. Tell me if you find anything...
