Re: [pygtk] new snapshot of gnome-python (new features!)
Alright. First of all it is probably a Good Thing to use automake 1.4 (you can probably build gnome-python with 1.3, but there are some bits of gnome that requires the newer version). The first error says aclocal can't find the AM_PATH_GDK_IMLIB macro. When aclocal gets an error, it bombs out without writing the rest of the macros. This is what caused the rest of your problems (I think). You probably want to find where imlib.m4 is installed, and add it to ACLOCAL_FLAGS (as "-I /directory/name"). Alternatively, since the state of the CVS code is the same as the tarball snapshot I released, you could just use that. [pygtk] new snapshot of gnome-python (new features!)
Hello, have just tried a CVS-checkout of gnome-python. I get errors rigth when i run autgen.sh. This is my first try to use cvs-checkouts from gnome, so apologize for any obvious things I'm missing. I have aplied the patch to automake1.3. Put the files from am-changes at the right places. Thanks for any hints __Janko Here the output from autgen.sh: ./autogen.sh I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish to pass any to it, please specify them on the ./autogen.sh command line. [pygtk] new snapshot of gnome-python (new features!)
Hello everyone, I am getting close to releasing a new version of gnome-python and pygtk, as you probably know. In preparation, I have put together a snapshot of the new gnome-python. It contains the threading code for pygtk (in fact the only difference between the pygtk in this snapshot and the last pygtk snapshot is that this one exports the thread block/unblock functions, and includes a wrapper for gdk_bitmap_create_from_data), and extends this support to gnome.ui. It also contains two new modules -- gnome.applet and gnome.capplet. These are conditionally compiled, depending on whether gnome-core and control-center are installed, respectively. I have written a simple python clock applet included in the pygnome/examples directory that should be enough to get people started. The snapshot is available at ftp://ftp.daa.com.au/pub/james/gnome/ If noone finds any problems with this snapshot, it will become pygtk-0.6.0 and gnome-python-1.0.2.
