You could start the 2.8 branch.. you'll see then, what's working and what not. As the guy who's responsible for packaging Gnumeric/Win32, I will keep updating these unofficial packages of Gtk+/Win32 (GDE/GRE) for my convenience, no worry. BTW, I think every programmer who use GNU stuff on win32 suffers from the fact that no solid packaging system exists on this platform. A year ago I tried to port dpkg and its friends to win32 with a little success. No, dpkg.exe (.exe? yes, it can be compiled) is not working yet, though dpkg-deb.exe dpkg-split.exe do (even with wine!). I still want to carry on, but I have less time than before. Is there anybody who is interested in joining this project? Please let me know and probably I will start a project on SF. Hi, I've compiled PyGTK myself, using the gimp/~win32 libraries. If you have both MinGW and MSys installed you should be able to get things working. MSys can be used to compile using configure. [pygtk] obsolete Win32 binaries
The semi-official Windows binaries by Cedric Gustin (http://www.pcpm.ucl.ac.be/~gustin/win32_ports/) stop at PyGTK 2.6.2, skipping newer versions since 2.6.3: is it an abandoned initiative? Are there other maintainers? I also noticed that FAQ 21.8 (http://www.async.com.br/faq/pygtk/index.py?req=show&file=faq21.008.htp) refers to nonexistent instructions on Cedric Gustin's site, while compiling instrictions are actually in FAQ 21.2 (http://www.async.com.br/faq/pygtk/index.py?req=show&file=faq21.002.htp).
