+1 here for dropping the SEXTANTE name for the same reason we now have a
Vector menu instead of fTools.

I would vote for a processing menu as sextante goes beyond analysis

Hi,

These metadata fields are defined as WMS metadata fields.
The URL must be a link to an XML metadata file like an INSPIRE metadata.

+1 from me too.

Personally I find the core plugin concept unnecessary. If it's core it
shouldn't be a plugin and should just be part of the main program. It can
still be Python that is fine however users shouldn't have to turn them on
and off they should just be there and be transparent.

IMO we should aim to kill of all C++ core plugins in 2.1 and make them core
features.Things like the geometry checking, spatial join, georeferencer
should all be core features and have C++ and Python APIs that the user can
use.

Maybe we can use Processing or GeoProcessing as new name.

[Qgis-developer] QGIS hanging when opening a FileGDB on 64 bit Linux

2013-08-10 Thread Jeremy Palmer
Hi QGIS devs!

Since the latest round of code changes (maybe over the last 2 months) I can no
longer open Esri FileGDB in QGIS. I can read the database and QGIS prompts me
from the FileGDB layers to add to the map, but when I select the layer from
this dialog QGIS just hangs. I did some debugging and it seems to hang on the
OGR_DS_Destroy call within QgsOgrFeatureIterator::close(). Does anyone else
have this problem?

I'm running FileGDB SDK 1.3 and Ubuntu 12.04 64bit with QGIS master. I've
tested this with the OSGeo4W win32 qgis-dev package and I don't get the problem.

Could this be related to this issue:
http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/76527-CloseDatabase-hanging-on-64-bit-Linux-when-same-File-Geodatabase-opened-twice

??

Cheers,
Jeremy

Hi Gino,

If you know who you are sharing room with, one of you can contact the
hotel directly and arrange for a shared room.

[Qgis-developer] How to create a QGIS windows installer with GUI customization

2013-08-10 Thread qrookie
Hey everyone,

I'm building a custom QGIS Installer for Windows with a stripped down QGIS
GUI.

In the comments of these instructions it says that this is possible by using
the customization function of QGIS.

http://linfiniti.com/2011/05/building-custom-qgis-installers-for-windows/

But how does it work exactly? How do I save the custom GUI? Export the
Windows registry key QGISCUSTOMIZATION or save it as a .ini file? And
where in the installer package do I place it?

Thank you! :)

I like GRASS menus, it has all the analytical modules under vector and
