In that case I bet it's the ohloh counter only fetching commits
which are _newer_ than what it already has. If that's the case
things _may_ fix by removing the git repo link and then re-adding
it, but only if the ohloh service drops the whole cache as soon as
you drop the repository. Better to wait for ohloh devs response.

if I enable only the git repo, the history starts from the time when we
switched to
git, nothing from svn.

It may help if you see a specific commit which is missing.
I assumed we only miss 1,2 and 3 because git history starts
with SVN revision 4, but there might be more "holes" due to
commits in different SVN branches not represented in git.

I experimented a bit:
- removing the old svn repo misses all the old history
- removing the git misses the recent stuff.
So the only clean way is to import the svn history into git. Could
someone plese do
this? Afterwards we can remove the svn repo from

Probably not:

 commit 40ef8c3ee6cab71708f830b24ab6decf7540aac0
 Author: gsherman
 Date: Sat Jul 6 00:33:05 2002 +

Initial revision

git-svn-id: http://svn.osgeo.org/qgis/trunk@4
c8812cc2-4d05-0410-92ff-de0c093fc19c

I guess there are 3 revisions missing from history,
no idea why (in different branch ?)

I wonder if history not starting from revision 1 has also to do with ohloh
not recognizing the commit duplication.

correct, that's the reason of the issue

we would miss our history, apparently because svn history was not migrated to
git (am
I right?).
so the cleanest solution would be to add the svn history to git, and remove the
svn
repo from the list. is this feasible a posteriori?
thanks.

I agree, I certainly used these stats in many many many presentations over the
past 5 years to show how vibrant the project is :)
My favourite stat is to show how many committers there were in last 12 months,
it's always encouraging.

You should be able to have both repositories listed on ohloh, I think I did it
with other sites before. Only git was enlisted. I assume someone removed
the SVN enlistment for a reason, but I just added it back in. Feel free to
remove
it if I shouldn't have added it, but I think it should give you back the
history without
too much grief with overlaps. Will take a while to show up.
