[Qgis-user] raster catalog: qtsql?

2009-06-15 Thread Agustin Lobo
I've tried to install (on qgis 1.1.0) the raster catalog plugin and I 'm
told

that Qtsql is required, but which package exactly? According to
Synaptic I have python-qt4 4.3.3.2 and libqt4-sql 4.4.0

Thanks

Re: [Qgis-user] DNG and printing maps

2009-06-15 Thread Bernhard Ströbl

Hi Einar,

afaik only DGN from pre V8-Microstation is supported by ogr. V8 was
introduced in 2004 so it is very likely that your data are not supported
by ogr. If you have Microstation software available I could provide you
with a VBA-script that converts dgn to shp.

Hi Einar,

DGN should work through the open vector dialogue (provided by OGR). The
newer QGIS releases (I think 1.1. or later) feature a more sophisticated
vector data loader.

Did you try through the vector data loader?

Andreas

PS: see http://www.gdal.org/ogr/drv_dgn.html for some details on the ogr
dgn provider

I did mean DGN, I am photosgrapher as hobby and used DNG there. :)

Hi,

currently the print-composer cannot split the print output to multiple
pages. You can export the map to a tiff or pdf file. I would recommend
using a PDF viewer or graphics tool to do the split up/multipage
printing.

regarding DNG: do you really mean DNG (the Adobe digital negative photo
format?) - this is not a common GIS format at all since it doesn't
support
georeferencing (as far as I know).

Or do you mean DGN, the microstation CAD format? this should be
supported
through OGR (vector layer).

Hey

I have two proplems. First one. I have made this fine map. Now I would
realy like to print it. I need to split it up on few pages. Is there
some
easy way I can do that? Export it as photo or pdf. I was trying to use
print composer but did not see how I could split all the map on pages.

The other thing is may be not Qgis thing but is there way to open DNG
files or convert them to something Qgis can read?

Best regards

AW: [Qgis-user] cutting a line removes half of it

Hi Marco

This problem is fixed now in svn (r10928). Thanks for reporting.

Hi list, marco and horst,

the error doesn't show up on each cutting action, but if you try the
linked shp-file [1] it should happen every few cutting actions. (just
try to cut lines on several (10-20) locations and it should happen
sometimes).

- Quantum GIS - 1.1.0-Pan (Unstable) 'Pan (Unstable)' (10874M) (on
Debian) with $ geos-config --version 3.1.0
but happens also on Windows/OSGeo-Version 1.0.2 and trunk
- ogrinfo cuttingtest.shp = 1: cuttingtest (Line String)

I also included 2 screenshots into the zip-archive.

 hi list,
I'm having a funny behaviour while editing a lineshape with QGIS.

when I try to cut a line in two halfs sometimes the line is properly cut
and sometimes half of it is removed. I can not reproduce when it works
right and when it deletes parts of the line

 right: -- = ---|---
 wrong: -- = ---|

but it happens on QGIS 1.0.2 on Win as wel as on 1.1.0 Pan on Opensuse

 Any ideas

I don't think too many people have asked, besides that it seems that
plugins that are really good end up in the core code most of the time
and don't exist as separate plugins for long.

Re: [Qgis-user] raster catalog: qtsql?

2009-06-15 Thread John C. Tull
To answer for Agus, I tried this on my ubuntu linux vm and the plugin
still shows up as not-compatible.

I was poking around in the plugin source and it looked like there may
have been some things, like a path for the plugin icon, hard coded to
a path on a Windows machine. I may be way off here (likely), but I
wonder if some code generalization is needed for compatibility on
other platforms.

Cheers,
John

Thanks,

I meant that I already had
python-qt4 4.3.3.2
libqt4-sql 4.4.0

installed.

After your message, I installed
libqt4-sql-psql
libqt4-sql-sqlite
libqt4-sql-odb

but still was geting the same message in qgis:
The plugin depends on some components missing on your system. You
need

to install the following Python module in order to enable it: QtSql

I've now installed
python-qt4-sql

and finally could install the plugin. Nevertheless, after restart,
the

plugin is greyed as incompatible in the plugin manager.

I'm using Qgis 1.1.0 Pan Uunstable)

Thanks

Andreas Neumann wrote:

You need both.

libqt4-sql is for C++ and also the foundation for other script
bindings

like python (correct me if I'm wrong).

python-qt4 are the python bindings for Qt4, it includes qtsql
bindings.

You probably also need one of the following packages:

libqt4-sql-psql (Postgres support)
libqt4-sql-sqlite (SQlite 3 support)

or any other db you want to support.
