[Qgis-user] Error in Raster/Projections/Assign Projection
When I select a raster file with a wrong projection information in Raster/Projections/Assign Projection: 1. Desired CRS Select does not work: I select a CRS but then this is not written in the panel nor in the gdal command 2. The gdal command to be used appears to be gdalwarp. I guess this is wrong, as gdalwarp would reproject the raster into another CRS, while this menu is meant for just overrriding the projection info (which the user considers is wrong) leaving the actual raster geometry untouched. The correct gdal command should be gdal_translate with the -a_srs option. Just checking before reporting this as a bug. Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS 2.0 on openSUSE 12.3 - Processing Plugin
I haven't used qgis on opensuse for a while, but on the version I'm using in Arch Linux, python-qscintilla is a required dependency now because of the processing toolbox. So once qgis is compiled against that, it should work. Opening the plugin manager and choosing the Installed option on the left I could see 'Processing listed with red text in the list of plugins. There was also a category for Problems (or something like that - it is gone now because I applied a fix) where Processing was shown. In either case highlighting Processing showed the message highlighted in yellow that this plugin required QSCI. I shutdown QGIS and started up the YaST Software Manager. I searched for QSCI. The search returned three (3) pythonscintilla packages and two (2) libscintilla packages. I installed all packages EXCEPT libscintilla-devel (libqscintilla2-8, python-qscintilla, python-qscintilla-sip, and python3-qscintilla). I restarted QGIS and got the same message telling me Processing could not be loaded. Again, opening the plugin manager and choosing the Installed option on the left I could see 'Processing listed with red text in the list of plugins. Highlighting Processing showed the message that this plugin required psycopg2. I shutdown QGIS and started up the YaST Software Manager. I searched for psycopg2. The search returned four (4) packages. I installed all four (4) packages (python-psycopg2, python-psycopg2-doc, python3-psycopg2, and python3-psycopg2-doc). I restarted QGIS and no longer received a message regarding Processing. The Processing menu item now shows up in the menu and I can activate the Processing Toolbox which I assume is the QGIS 2 evolution of the SEXTANTE toolbox. Searching for the solution to this problem I see that it is a reported bug (Bug #8710 - cmake mises missing Qsci - http://hub.qgis.org/issues/8710) and the last entry in the History list of this bug report, from Georg Reutelsterz, mentions the install of the qscintilla package, but not the installation of the psycopg2 package. It might be the difference between openSUSE 12.3 and openSUSE 12.1 (the version Georg mentioned). I hope this note helps other installers/users of QGIS 2 on platforms that show the error for the the Processing plugin component installation. Re: [Qgis-user] cannot load layers from openlayers plugin
Hi JH, If you're trying to load OSM layers I believe in QGIS 2.0 it's a built-in operation that you can accomplish using Vector Menu - Openstreetmap. About the second problem, I think it's the normal behaviour of this plugin. I'm guessing the plugin needs to change your SRC to sync with OSM, Google or Bing data so you can have your information well displayed, this seems nonpractical for me, anyway. 2013/10/28 jorishin j...@enecowindbelgium.com Hello, loading layers from open LAyers Plugin (open streetmaps, google AND bing) gives me an error (read text below) is this related to a second problem?: when load such layers, my project CRS switches to EPSG3857. [Qgis-user] FW: Using one vector layers to calculate the unemplyment rate in another vector layer
Hi Everybody, I have a vector layer that exist out of about 1000 polygons of the different police districts. Then I have a Sensus sub-place vector layer with over 10 000 sub-places which indicate the number of unemployed citizens per polygon. The Sensus sub-place layer therefor overlaps with the police districts and when visualize some sub-places can make up 1% up to 100% of a given police district. Most of the police districts also contains 4 or more sub-places. The problem is I want to calculate the approximate unemployment rate per police district by using the data from the Sensus sub-place layer. Is there perhaps an explanation on how I can determine approximately proportionally what the unemployment is per police district.
