[Qgis-user] Error in Raster/Projections/Assign Projection

2013-10-28 Thread Agustin Lobo
When I select a raster file with a wrong projection information in
Raster/Projections/Assign Projection:

1. Desired CRS Select does not work: I select a CRS but then this is not
written in the panel nor in the gdal command
2. The gdal command to be used appears to be gdalwarp. I guess this is
wrong, as gdalwarp would
reproject the raster into another CRS, while this menu is meant for
just overrriding the projection info
(which the user considers is wrong) leaving the actual raster geometry
untouched. The correct gdal command should be gdal_translate with the
-a_srs option.

Just checking before reporting this as a bug.
Using qgis 2.0 on limuxmint Olivia (based on Ubuntu Raring)

[Qgis-user] NViz 3D Module in QGis 2.0.1.

2013-10-28 Thread Pim Verver
Hello everyone,

I have a windows 8.1 64 bits machine with a standalone installation of QGis
2.0.1.
I want to experiment with the NViz Module, installed as part of GRASS, wich is
installed as an integral part of QGis. I have define a GRASS mapset, etc... But
when I select Open GRASS Tools and from the module tree select the NViz 3D
viewer I get the popup 'Module NViz not found'.
Does anybody has the same problems?

Kind regards,

Please send the exact GDAL command that gets created and even better if you

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS 2.0 on openSUSE 12.3 - Processing Plugin

2013-10-28 Thread Saulteau Don
I haven't used qgis on opensuse for a while, but on the version I'm
using in Arch Linux, python-qscintilla is a required dependency now
because of the processing toolbox.
So once qgis is compiled against that, it should work.

Opening the plugin manager and choosing the Installed option on the left
 I
could see 'Processing listed with red text in the list of plugins. There
was also a category for Problems (or something like that - it is gone

because I applied a fix) where Processing was shown. In either case
highlighting Processing showed the message highlighted in yellow that
 this
 plugin required QSCI.

I shutdown QGIS and started up the YaST Software Manager. I searched for
QSCI. The search returned three (3) pythonscintilla packages and two
 (2)
libscintilla packages. I installed all packages EXCEPT libscintilla-devel
 (libqscintilla2-8, python-qscintilla, python-qscintilla-sip, and
 python3-qscintilla).

I restarted QGIS and got the same message telling me Processing could
 not
 be loaded.

Again, opening the plugin manager and choosing the Installed option on
 the

Highlighting Processing showed the message that this plugin required
 psycopg2.

I shutdown QGIS and started up the YaST Software Manager. I searched for
psycopg2. The search returned four (4) packages. I installed all four
 (4) packages (python-psycopg2, python-psycopg2-doc, python3-psycopg2, and
 python3-psycopg2-doc).

I restarted QGIS and no longer received a message regarding Processing.

The Processing menu item now shows up in the menu and I can activate the
Processing Toolbox which I assume is the QGIS 2 evolution of the
 SEXTANTE
 toolbox.

Searching for the solution to this problem I see that it is a reported bug
 (Bug #8710 - cmake mises missing Qsci - http://hub.qgis.org/issues/8710)
 and
the last entry in the History list of this bug report, from Georg
Reutelsterz, mentions the install of the qscintilla package, but not the
installation of the psycopg2 package. It might be the difference between
openSUSE 12.3 and openSUSE 12.1 (the version Georg mentioned).

I hope this note helps other installers/users of QGIS 2 on platforms that
show the error for the the Processing plugin component installation.

 Cheers,

[Qgis-user] Problems using QgsFillSymbolV2::createSimple()

2013-10-28 Thread Mihai Moise

Hi, I`m working at the moment on an OsGeoLive virtual box.

I`m using QGIS 1.8.0
I tryed to create a simple Symbol, but it failed to load the props, showing me
on the mapCanvas just a symbol with a random color.
This would be the code:

self.gol2_categ_7 = QgsSymbolV2.defaultSymbol(self.gol.geometryType())
self.gol2_categ_7.createSimple({color: 0,0,0,255, color_border:
0,0,0,255, offset: 0,0, style: diagonal_x,style_border:
solid,width_border:0.26})

Could you tell me please how to resolve the problem, so that the symbol loads
the props?

2013-10-28 Thread Yasser Said Lopez de Olmos Reyes
Hi JH,

If you're trying to load OSM layers I believe in QGIS 2.0 it's a built-in
operation that you can accomplish using Vector Menu - Openstreetmap.

About the second problem, I think it's the normal behaviour of this plugin.
I'm guessing the plugin needs to change your SRC to sync with OSM, Google
or Bing data so you can have your information well displayed, this seems
nonpractical for me, anyway.

If you are new to Map composing with QGIS, I advice you to take a look into

the User

need to change your Map item scale in the main properties or it's extent.

 OK, that was the problem.

 I just changed page settings...

Now, the issue is that the actual map (the visible part of the selected
layers) is way smaller incomparsion to the map item. So the composer
seems to waste a lot of space around the layers.

 How can I prevent that?

[Qgis-user] Note on bug in Lat/Lon plugin

2013-10-28 Thread Mikhail Tchernychev

Hello List,

I recently fixed bug in Lat/Lon plugin. Unfortunately fixed version is
not yet approved.
The bug is triggered when new project is used because projection on the
fly property

is does not yet exists.

The work round is to go to project settings and enable projection on
the fly option before

using Lat/Lon grid plugin. It is needed for plugin anyway.

Alternatively you can replace latlongridlayer.py file with one attached
to this letter.

as well as metadata.txt

Best Regards
Mikhail

Hi, I cannot visualise JPG rasters with QGIS 2.0 (Windows 7). The files

the file looks all scrambled. Any suggestion?

 Thank you all

[Qgis-user] FW: Using one vector layers to calculate the unemplyment rate in another vector layer

2013-10-28 Thread Pretorius Deon - Lieutenant Colonel
Hi Everybody,

I have a vector layer that exist out of about 1000 polygons of the different
police districts. Then I have a Sensus sub-place vector layer with over 10 000
sub-places which indicate the number of unemployed citizens per polygon. The
Sensus sub-place layer therefor overlaps with the police districts and when
visualize some sub-places can make up 1% up to 100% of a given police
district. Most of the police districts also contains 4 or more sub-places.
The problem is I want to calculate the approximate unemployment rate per
police district by using the data from the Sensus sub-place layer. Is there
perhaps an explanation on how I can determine approximately proportionally
what the unemployment is per police district. I am new to QGIS and not up to
date with programming, however any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards
Deon Pretorius

It is approved now isn't it?
