[Qgis-user] Pyqgis :2.2 : link between a signal and an event
I'm writing a pyqgis 2.2 plugin with qgis 2.2 I succeeded in accessing and displaying vector data (geometries & attributes). I succeed also to create a 'beforecomitechanges' signal ( emitted, before changes are commited to the data provider). Thus a message has appeared into qgis logwindow ("comit change" label) after editing operations and before commiting toward the dp). Please read following piece of code allowing to do that: - def beforeLayerCommitChange(self): QgsMessageLog.logMessage( "commit change" ) QApplication.beep() layer.beforeCommitChanges.connect(self.beforeLayerCommitChange) Now I would like to generate others signals. i would like generate the displaying of information messages (number of features that have been added, modifyied, deleted, the id of the features which have been modified, the name of the layer..). COuld you throw light for me ? [Qgis-user] Error in dialog for joining files
I have detected an error in the dialog for joining files (ftools plugin). This error is issued:when pressing the "accept" button in the dialog that appears at: Vector => Data management => Combine shape files (the menu names could differ, I'm translating to english the names that appear in my localised menu). File "C:\OSGEO4~1\apps\qgis\python\plugins\fTools\tools\doMergeShapes.py", line 159, in accept AttributeError: 'Dialog' object has no attribute 'encoding' I have qgis instaled from OSGEO4Windows distribution, and OSGeo's Python27 is the first python interpreter in the python search path. I think changing all references to self.Encoding to "System" could work as a quick hack, but I don't manage it to work (I don't remember how did I recompile a .pyc from a .py last time I needed it). ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Re: [Qgis-user] R: QGIS 2.4 Basic Tutorial
Hi All, Thanks for the guidance - I'll probably write more later with some questions about more details. Sasa - for now I have all the data files in the GitHub repository in a .zip file. If you go here: https://github.com/mtreg/QGIS-Tutorial/blob/master/QGIS-Tutorial/Treglia_Sample%20Data.zip - simply clicking "view the full file" should initiate a download. [or right-click on that and select "save file as" or something of the like]. Those data are not directly available from the website of the institution referenced - staff there provided me with the data to use for this tutorial/workshop though. Hi Michael, thanks for sharing. I think the "right" way to go would be to: * convert everything in rst, the system we use for all qgis docs * divide it in chunks (chapters) * see what is a duplication of existing material, and what is new * try to integrate the new material into the existing one; please consider that it is easy to reassemble chapters in a different arrangement, so to obtain different products from the same basic material (e.g. a short manual for newbies would be made by the general intro and the first part of in-depth sections; a specialized manual on, say, forestry would be the combination of the introductions + ad hoc chapters, etc.).
