[Qgis-user] Copy and Paste Features not bringing in attributes
Hello, I have save as a layer to a new name and then deleted all the features it had then I select the features that I want from the original file and copy and paste them into the new file but even though they are the exact same structure and field names everything other than the geometry comes in as NULL. Any ideas why the data from the fields (other than geometry) are not pasting in? Thank you. Re: [Qgis-user] Copy and Paste Features not bringing in attributes
Hmm, ok I noticed something like this today too. I selected the polygons from the first layer and saved them in a new layer. But I accidentally missed selecting a couple, so I copied and pasted them from the old layer into the new one. They showed up with null for the attributes. Null on pasting. Null after saving. Null after closing and reopen info the attribute table. Didn't have more time to play with it so I redid the selection properly and saved it over again. -ramon. Re: [Qgis-user] show labels only, if objects are activated/visible
Hi Bernhard, Yes - we sort of have rule based labeling with the data-defined properties and conditions. But for very complex labeling it is a bit hard to track. The rules are so distributed in different places/properties that it is hard to get an overview what is really going on. I mean the UI of the rule-based symbology is nicer and allows to change multiple graphical properties of the same rule at once. There is certainly room for improvements. A coupling of rendering and labeling would be quite interesting (esp. for the case Otto is mentioning where users want to selectively enable/disable rules/categories), I think - but I don't know if it is technically solvable (or how hard it is). Re: [Qgis-user] show labels only, if objects are activated/visible
Hi Andreas, I agree, the UI is much nicer and it would be great to have a similar one for the labels where you define a rule and then set text color, halo etc. for this case (and even the label text itself). Currently you have to click into data-defined properties and reenter the same rule at several places. Yes the coupling of geometry rendering and labelling would be good to have. Currently features are labeled even if the are covered by other features. No idea how much effect this would have on the rendering speed. ( i use 2.4.0, while one other colleague uses 2.6.1, etc. ). We use a font set called Clan Pro, and only some of the fonts work at any given font size. What's more, which fonts work and don't seems to vary amongst all of us! does anybody know a solution? is there some version of qgis where fonts are better functioning? [Qgis-user] Add mssql non-geometric tables
Hi Does anybody know how to add a non-geometric table from an mssql database to a qgis project? Do I need to add it in the table geometry_columns? If yes what would be the appropriate attribute values there? [Qgis-user] Field expression for file name?
Hi, I am building an index of a LiDar project (using .las files). I can use lasboundary.exe to create .shp boundary polygon for each individual file (using the merge option will only create one big polygon). I can then use vector/data management tools/merge the shapefile to one to make one file. The problem is I need a field (the file names) for each polygon. Is there an field expression for this? This field is not created by lasboundary or my merge the shapefile to one. Perhaps I can use the Advanced Python field calculator in batch mode in the processing plugin but I don't know how to return the files names. Can someone help or give my and idea of how to proceed? [Qgis-user] Problem with loading layers from a project
I'm trying to load a project via python (original project and the single shp file (the extension should be .zip), along with the project after saving, are attached). When I load the project, there are no layers, and if I write the project out, it doesn't contain the original layer either.
