Dear Ismail,

Thank you very much for letting us know about your group and your
activities. It is very interesting to let others know about the
forming of groups like yours and also about your meetings.
As Editor in Chief of GeoForAll
(https://www.osgeo.org/initiatives/geo-for-all/) Newsletter I will
announce your meeting in the next issue (March issue).
I would like to invite you to have a look at the Newsletter
(https://www.osgeo.org/initiatives/geo-for-all/geo-newsletters-archive/) which
is devoted to the Open Source and Free geospatial software.
I think that it would be very interesting to send me (if you think so)
an abstract of the results of your meeting to be published in the
Newsletter.

Looking forward to getting more news from you and your group

Dear all,

First, please apologize me if this post may not be in suitable for this
mailing list and perhaps not interesting for most of the member :)

I just want to share *the first QGIS Indonesia meet up*. It will be
held at *Gadjah
Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 29 February 2020*. In this
meetup, there will be a sharing session, technical session, and discussion
about the QGIS Indonesia community itself. Below is the agenda that we have:

*Sharing Session:*

   1. *The growth of open-source GIS (QGIS and Geoserver) in Indonesia* by
   Ibnu Rosyadi
   2. *Land cover mapping by using machine learning and land change by
using cellular automata on QGIS* by Nur M. Farda
   3. *Basic GRASS in QGIS* by Firman Hadi
   4. *The uses of QGIS in the forest and environmental management* by
   Afandi Ahmad
   5. *QGIS for village mapping* by Eko Kalisno

*Technical session:*

   1. *Bug reporting on QGIS and QGIS community's activities around the
   world* by Ismail Sunni
   2. *Translating QGIS to Bahasa Indonesia* by Adi Kurniawan
   3. *Creating graphical modeler on QGIS* by M. Iqnaul
   4. *Basic QGIS* by M. Anshori

For more information (in Bahasa Indonesia) you can visit
https://qgis-id.github.io/#meetup

There are still some spots left, you can contact me if you are interested.
We got a bigger room than initially, that can accommodate around 80 people
(compared to 50 initially). And we are still open for sponsorship also :)

I am posting this just in case there are some Indonesian (or people who can
speak Bahasa Indonesia) in this mailing list who are not aware of *QGIS
Indonesia* (soon to be) *User Group*. We are still a new baby (although
already active in our Telegram group with 500 members) and trying to gather
more and more people to join us.

If you are interested, you can join us on our Telegram group (
https://t.me/qgisindonesia), and see you there :)

Thanks

That shouldn't be the case (and there's unit tests in place checking
this). Could you try first a different PDF reader, and if you still
see this, open a bug report with your project attached?

Hi Cinda,

Adding data is supported as well and works in many projects.

Good choice to look into the log, can you explain how you did that and
share a screenshot of that?

And maybe also share the data?

Best wishes

Re: [Qgis-user] Download paths from OpenStreetMap

2020-02-26 Thread Clifford Snow
It is possible to download paths from OpenStreetMap. The easiest way would
be use use overpass-turbo.eu. Here is a sample query to load all paths in
Montana. http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/R65. If the query is too large for
overpass, the area can be split into smaller sections. Another option is to
use the HOT export tool at https://export.hotosm.org/. The HOT export tool
does require an OSM id. Beyond that you can download the entire data file
for a country or region from http://download.geofabrik.de

There is a plugin the QuickOSM plugin for QGIS. I haven't used it much
since I'm used to running overpass but it has a clean user interface.

If you are not familiar with OSM tagging, I strongly recommend reviewing
the wiki at wiki.openstreetmap.org. It may help you understand the tags as
well as filter out features you may not want.

Let me know if you need more help.

Best,
Clifford

[Qgis-user] Download paths from OpenStreetMap

2020-02-26 Thread Alberto Oscar Allepuz Palau
Hi all,

In openstreet map is possible to have access to paths for trecking
(https://hiking.waymarkedtrails.org/#routelist?map=7!44.0637!8.27)
and is also possible to download them as gpx files (which then I can import to
QGIS).

However, they have to be downloaded one by one and depending on the level of
resolution the web shows more or less paths as they are classified in different
levels (i.e., continental, national, regional and other)?

Is there any way to download all the paths (or at least at country level) at
the same time?

I am conducting an analysis in which I want to include the distance to these
paths from places with outbreaks of disease as a possible risk factor and that
is why I would like to import them into QGIS.

Thanks for your advice

Cheers
Alberto

That should be the right one!

No, thats wrong. From

it should be:
sudo apt-get install libgdal20=2.2.3+dfsg-2

What commands do I need to get the right cache?

Usually, "sudo apt-get update" should clear the cache. Maybe you need to
restart after editing the sources list to get it loaded.

Re: [Qgis-user] Transformations & Projections

2020-02-26 Thread Kirk Schmidt

Hello Glarivie:

I just did a quick test to convert from NAD83 to Conus albers. When yous
elect your CRS for the exported data, the converston parameters are
shown at the bottom of the CRS selector window.  In my case :

Extent: -124.79, 24.41, -66.91, 49.38

Proj4: +proj=aea +lat_1=29.5 +lat_2=45.5 +lat_0=23 +lon_0=-96 +x_0=0
+y_0=0 +ellps=GRS80 +units=m +no_defs

This shows you the bounds of the new CRS as well as the default
ellipsoid for Conus Albers.  I  this case there is no scaling (k=0) and
no false eastings or northings applied.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

I'm pretty new to QGis, so I'm sure this is basic but I was hoping
someone could walk me through this using version 3.4. I have csv data
that's in both WGS84 and NAD83. The desired end-projection is EPSG:
6350 NAD83(2011) Conus Albers. I've loaded each into a blank QGis
project (separately) and saved as shapefiles in the target CRS. I then
need to perform some interpolations using the data.

My question is, have I missed a step? Do I need to perform a separate
step to transform the datum (particularly the WGS84 data). Since 3.4
uses PROJ 5.2, I was assuming that the step where I "save as" in the
target CRS takes care of both the datum transformation and the
projection. Is this assumption correct? If so, what default
transformation is taking place and is there a way for me to determine
what it is?

Thanks so much for your help! I'm, unfortunately, a little stumped here.

Re: [Qgis-user] Second Call For A New Training Course - An Introduction To Integrating QGIS/GIS And R For Spatial Analysis

2020-02-26 Thread Håvard Tveite
Hi Colin,

R script support was added to the QGIS Resource Sharing
plugin recently.

I have also updated some of the scripts in the QGIS 2
online collection to sf and made them available through the
official QGIS Resource Sharing repository.

You (and your students) can download these updated scripts by
choosing "QGIS R script collection" in the "All" tab of the
QGIS Resource Sharing plugin and clicking on "Install".
The scripts should immediately become available under
R in the Processing Toolbox.

If you would like to use the QGIS 2 R script collection, it
can be found as "QGIS R script collection (from QGIS 2)".
Scripts that have Spatial types as input or output won't work
without modifications.

If you update some of the QGIS 2 scripts and would like to
add them to the official QGIS Resource Sharing collection
for the course, just send them to me, and I will do my best
to get them included asap.

A "User manual" for the QGIS Resource Sharing plugin can
be found on:
http://qgis-contribution.github.io/QGIS-ResourceSharing/

Good luck with your course!

Regards,

salvare come definitivo.

2020-02-26 Thread Marco Guiducci

Il 26/02/2020 09:04, Luca Mastrangelo ha scritto:

Buongiorno. Utilizzo la 3.4 madeira.

Ho provato in diversi modi.

0 = Unitless; 1 = Inches; 2 = Feet; 3 = Miles; 4 = Millimeters;
5 = Centimeters; 6 = Meters; 7 = Kilometers; 8 = Microinches;
9 = Mils; 10 = Yards; 11 = Angstroms; 12 = Nanometers;
13 = Microns; 14 = Decimeters; 15 = Decameters;
16 = Hectometers; 17 = Gigameters; 18 = Astronomical units;
19 = Light years; 20 = Parsecs

stragrande maggioranza, vengano considerate in pollici. Sarebbe
Ma visto che "At the moment GDAL writes DXF to report the measurement
units as "English - Inches", occorre cambiare a mano il valore, una
volta per sempre.

Scusate la prolissità
marcog

[Qgis-user] Second Call For A New Training Course - An Introduction To Integrating QGIS/GIS And R For Spatial Analysis

2020-02-26 Thread Colin D. MacLeod
This is the second call for a brand new training course from GIS In Ecology.
It's called 'An Introduction To Integrating QGIS.GIS and R For Spatial
Analysis' and will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, between the 7th and 9th of
April 2020. This course is aimed at those who wish to learn how to use and
integrate QGIS (the leading freely available GIS software package) and R (the
leading freely available data analysis software package) for spatial analysis.
It will be taught by Dr. Colin D. MacLeod, the author of ‘An Introduction To
Integrating QGIS And R for Spatial Analysis’ (Pictish Beast Publications) and a
renowned expert in using GIS in biological and ecological research. He is also
a co-author of the upcoming ‘An Introduction To Basic Statistics For Biologists
Using R’, which is a practical guide to carrying out the analysis of biological
data in R. The course assumes no prior knowledge of either QGIS/GIS or R, and
so is open to complete beginners as well as those how know how to use one of
these software packages, and wish to learn how to integrate it with the other.

Attendance will be limited to a maximum of 16 people. The course for this three
day course will cost GBP 395 per person (with a discounted rate of GBP 300 for
students, the unwaged and those working for registered charities). To book a
place, or for more information, visit
http://gisinecology.com/an-introduction-to-integrating-qgis-gis-and-r-for-spatial-analysis/
 or email i...@gisinecology.com.

GIS and statistical analysis are two of the most fundamental software tools for
modern biologists wishing to conduct spatial analyses. However, each have their
own sets of software packages, and sometimes it can be difficult to know how to
integrate the two. This course will provide an introduction to the integration
of QGIS (the leading freely available GIS software package) and R (the leading
data analysis software packages used by biologists) to create a combined tool
set that makes the most of the strengths of each of these individual software
packages. It will consist of a series of background sessions on using GIS and R
for spatial analysis, mixed in with practical sessions where you will learn how
to use QGIS, how to use R, and how to integrate two to complete a spatial
analysis project. This last part will include working through an example
project, starting with creating a high quality map for publication through
creating raster data layers of environmental variables, joining data together
based on their spatial relationships and analysing the combined data set using
R (including creating summary statistics, conducting linear regressions and
conducting generalised additive modelling - GAMs). While it will primarily be
based around QGIS, this course is taught using software-independent approach,
and it is also open to those who wish to learn how to use ArcGIS to do
biological GIS.

When you attend this course you will receive a free copy of An Introduction To
Integrating QGIS And R for Spatial Analysis (GIS For Biologists Workbooks) as
the practical exercises in that course are based on the ones contained in that
book. NOTE: If you wish to use ArcGIS software for this course, alternative
materials will be provided for the practical sessions.

Yes, exactly.
But before, make sure to have the right GDAL lib with

[Qgis-user] Transformations & Projections

2020-02-26 Thread glarivie .
Hello,

I'm pretty new to QGis, so I'm sure this is basic but I was hoping someone
could walk me through this using version 3.4. I have csv data that's in
both WGS84 and NAD83. The desired end-projection is EPSG: 6350 NAD83(2011)
Conus Albers. I've loaded each into a blank QGis project (separately) and
saved as shapefiles in the target CRS. I then need to perform some
interpolations using the data.

My question is, have I missed a step? Do I need to perform a separate step
to transform the datum (particularly the WGS84 data). Since 3.4 uses PROJ
5.2, I was assuming that the step where I "save as" in the target CRS takes
care of both the datum transformation and the projection. Is this
assumption correct? If so, what default transformation is taking place and
is there a way for me to determine what it is?

Thanks so much for your help! I'm, unfortunately, a little stumped here.

[Qgis-user] Issue with pyproj import_datadir in 3.4.15

2020-02-26 Thread Paul Wittle
Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade our QGIS deployment from 3.4.7 to 3.4.15 and I'm now
getting the following error:

from pyproj import _datadir

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "C:\programs\QGIS_3\apps\Python37\lib\code.py", line 90, in runcode

ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.

I accept that this error is being caused by the stack trace of my own plugin
but I'm a bit stuck for ideas now. My plugin is importing the WFS libraries
from OWSLib and that is then issuing the statement above which then fails.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so are there any suggestions on
how to fix the issue or alternatively which support group to email about it (I
know it might be the OWSLib project)?

So far I've re-installed it multiple times with differing libraries selected in
the OWS installer and I've tried
https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
 which I found referenced somewhere.

I don't seem to be getting the issue on my 32 bit installation but then for
course it was a separate install download so I'm not 100% certain why that one
works and this one doesn't.

Any help or pointers would be apricated,

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS uninstalled after GDAL PPA install

2020-02-26 Thread J. M
Hi guys!

Well thanks for all that info! Ben, I completely failed to understand what
you explained before about your OS, but I get it now! I was happy with 3.10
anyway, so that's great. I'll have a go at removing ubuntugis-unstable and
I'll edit my source file accordingly. Incidentally, it might be a good idea
to explain that on the site because I've been redirected there many times
and always just gone somewhere else to get instructions about what to do.
For software engineers it's maybe logical, but for end users like me it
seemed like reference information, entirely unrelated to the actual
installation process.

Andre, thanks again! I'm not sure how to remove the ubuntugis files to be
honest, if purging QGIS doesn't work. I erased the GPG manually (sudo
nautilus) because I hadn't encountered an easy way, but then I ran
autoremove qgis and I thought that would take care of everything related to
it, including PPA's (the command removed stuff connected with FreeCAD, for
example, which has no connection whatsoever).
The key is for the whole ubuntugis project, regardless of the branch you
are using. Same goes for QGIS.
That makes sense, and explains the error message about it.

Okay, one last question:
And add "python3-qgis" to your install command.
I don't know enough about linux syntax to include this without dropping the
ball.
Maybe 'sudo apt-get install qgis qgis-plugin-grass python3-qgis'?
Should I start again and run autoremove qgis, etc, or can I attempt it from
where I am?

Thanks again!!
Jimi.

Place the gsb under your "QGIS folder\profiles\default\proj\" and then
select the transformation you want in Settings > Options > CRS > Default

Hi!
Do you sometimes have multiple screens? I’ve experienced that when moving the
georeference window to the second screen it doesn’t show up when using just
one. Try to connect the second screen again and move it back to the main
screen. Otherwise it is a setting somewhere. Maybe in the Windows register or
user profile. At least when I had the problem.

Hello,

I'm using QGIS 3.6.3, with window 10 pro.
When clicking on the georeferencer button, nothing happen.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall version 3.12, but still it doesn't work..

Thanks,

That wiki is outdated, the qgis.org/ubuntugis packages are compiled

I guess you are better off without anything from ubuntugis at the
moment. So take the qgis.org/ubuntu-ltr bionic packages to avoid the
PROJ6 problems others mentioned.

You should run "apt-cache policy libgdal20" to see that you have GDAL
2.2.3 and nothing newer. See

to learn how to install a specific version of a package.

And add "python3-qgis" to your install command.

with sudo
add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntugis/ppa, and it appeared to duplicate your
command sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key

different PPA's?

The key is for the whole ubuntugis project, regardless of the branch you

- I ran sudo apt-get install qgis qgis-plugin-grass and received the
following error message, similar to before:

Seems to be a non-ubuntugis package, but You don't have the GDAL version
2.2.3 installed, but a newer one from ubuntugis. Try to get rid of that
to remove all follow-up error messages.

2020-02-26 Thread Luca Mastrangelo
Buongiorno. Utilizzo la 3.4 madeira.

Ho provato in diversi modi.
