[Qgis-user] Calculate upslope catchment areas for multiple points?
Hello All, I have used SAGA to generate channel networks and r.watershed to generate catchment sub-basins from Copernicus 30 m DEM data to assist with planning a stream sediment sampling program. Once samples are collected I would like to generate polygons that define the upslope area for each sample point. I understand that this can be done using SAGA Terrain Analysis ‘Upslope area’ tool that requires manually copying and pasting the X and Y coordinates for each sample point (one point at a time which works but is not practical for 100’s of samples, or in batches which is still not ideal and doesn’t appear to work?). Is there an easy way to import a point file with multiple points (100’s of points) to SAGA or another tool to automatically calculate upslope catchment areas for each of the points? I have come across two potential solutions: 1) ‘Qgis SAGA Upslope Area for several points automation’: https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/342333/qgis-saga-upslope-area-for-several-points-automation 2) ‘Snap pour points and delineate multiple catchments in QGIS’: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hqc_1CMadhA However, both are three years old and it appears there are complications using both these methods in newer versions of QGIS3. Are there alternative methods? I am using QGIS 3.28.11a on macOS Monterey. Re: [Qgis-user] Qgis tif to kmz?
Thanks Duarte. Yes I know how to georeference an image in GE but I was hoping there was a way of avoiding doing the georeferencing twice (first in Qgis and again in GE). MapInfo has a Google Earth link tool that creates kmz files that can then be used in GE and GPS units. Think it would be nice to be able to do the same in Qgis. Thanks again, Ben On 04/02/2013, at 9:51 PM, Duarte Carreira wrote: > GE does support image overlays. [Qgis-user] QGIS Workspace Packager Tool?
Dear All, Is it possible to save a copy of a QGIS workspace and all the linked data files used by the workspace to a new folder so that the new workspace can be opened no matter where the folder is moved or copied, even if the folder is moved or copied to a different computer (ie something like the MapInfo "Workspace Packager" tool). Re: [Qgis-user] 1.7.4 "Wroclaw" Vs 1.8.0 "Lisboa" on OSX 10.6.8
Hi, Thanks simbamangu for the tip re doing a clean install. I tried: http://press.underdiverwaterman.com/clean-install-of-qgis-in-osx/ but got "No such file or directory" (I'm not familiar with terminal and may not have the right syntax). Can anyone else help with step by step instructions to do a clean install on Mac OSX? [Qgis-user] 1.7.4 "Wroclaw" Vs 1.8.0 "Lisboa" on OSX 10.6.8
Dear All, I have just upgraded from to 1.7.4 "Wroclaw" to 1.8.0 "Lisboa" on a Mac running OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and am finding the "Lisboa" version very unstable (eg crashes/quits unexpectedly when using georeferencer, when saving new shape files, when adding new vector layers, when adding new rastor layers). Are these problems with this version or my installation? Am I better reverting to 1.7.4? If so do I have to uninstall all the 1.8.0 components (GDAL, CSL) before reinstalling 1.7.4? Very frustrating. [Qgis-user] Editing Data in Attribute Table/How Do I Install MultiEdit
Hi All, A couple of questions re editing data in the attribute table: 1) Is it possible to add/change attribute data to multiple selected items in one single operation (I'm presently selecting the items, opening the attribute table, ticking show selected only, and then manually pasting the relevant data into the row for each item)? Surely there is a more intelligent way to do this? 2) Is there a "find and replace" tool that can be used to change matching data to a new value when editing data in the attribute table? 3) The MultiEdit plugin (http://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/MultiEdit/) sounds like it may be helpful when editing data in the attribute table but I haven't been able to install it (it doesn't appear in the list of plugins in the plugin installer). How do I install this plugin? Thanks for your help, Ben ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
[Qgis-user] Qgis Styles
I am a new user to Qgis and this list. I have colleagues that work with MapInfo and ArcGIS and am using .tab and .shp files in Qgis. Two questions: 1) Is possible to import styles that were assigned to shape files and tab files in MapInfo and ArcGIS (respectively) into Qgis (ie styles saved in an ArcGIS layer .lyr file)? 2) Alternatively is there a repository of additional polygon fill styles that can be loaded in Qgis (the existing fill styles appear to be very limited)? Help will be very much appreciated. Thanks, Ben ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
