[Qgis-user] Problem with European Drought Observatory WCS layer
Dear List, I am trying to add a wcs layer from the European Drought Observatory (EDO [1] ) server, but I am unable to do so. The layer is being reported as invalid(?). [Qgis-user] Create monthly images from fixed timely images
Hey all, Sorry for cross emailing in two lists, but I believe the issue is interesting for both users. Is there a method that can create monthly LST images from MOD11a2 ? The problem arises if you consider that MOD11a2 gets released every 8days and you want to create a monthly image combining n*8days accordingly. eg: month1_image: 1st-day + 9th-day + 17th-day + 25th-day + 6/8*33rd-day month2_image: 2/8*33rd-day + 41st-day and so on as you can see it gets quite complicated find the weighting values for first and last input days because as the example shows 33rd-day goes for the first month as well for the 2nd month. Anyone had crossed into this kind of problem before? If so how did you solve it? [Qgis-user] qgis, gdal and hdf (ubuntu)
For those wondering qgis cant open hdf files, because the Ubuntu repo flavor or gdal isn't compiled with hdf support. You have to compile it yourself and then recompile qgis with your custom build. That made me wondering: Why qgis needs gdal to be defined on compilation time? Isn't possible to use gdal as external lib, and as so being able to 'change the path' through options or something similar - that would be easier (for me) to just point to the version of gdal i like. regards ves nikos ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Re: [Qgis-user] corine land cover shapefile...
here's a qml with the legent of every class of CORINE according eea's legend file.(attach1) in your shape file, make a new attribute table, and name it(!) CODE_00 (!) and populate it with the codes without any dots. eg class 1.1.1 should become 111 at column CODE_00. This is important: name it CODE_00 otherwise it wont work, and the length should be at least 3 chars long. The reason for this is that the original corine shapefiles already comes with like that. Don't forget to save after making the column. After that load the qml. I haven't applied the official colours but if needed I can take some time to tune it. Also i attach an ods (open document spreadsheet) with the classes, labels RGB colour values and etc taken from eea site. hf all with corine -- nikos ves http://mrcc.com/qgis.dtd' 'SYSTEM'> 255 CODE_00 CODE_00 default hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 111 111 1.1.1 Continuous Urban Fabric hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 112 112 1.1.2 Discontinuous Urban Fabric hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 121 121 1.2.1 Industrial and commercial units hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 122 122 1.2.2 Road and rail networks hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 123 123 1.2.3 Sea ports hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 124 124 1.2.4 Airports hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 131 131 1.3.1 Mineral extraction sites hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 132 132 1.3.2 Dump hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 133 133 1.3.3 Construction sites hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 141 141 1.4.1 Green urban areas hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 142 142 1.4.2 Sport and Leisure facilities hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 211 211 2.1.1 Non-irrigated arable land hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 212 212 2.1.2 Permanently irrigated land hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 213 213 2.1.3 Rice fields hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 221 221 2.2.1 Vineyards hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 222 222 2.2.2 Fruit trees and berries plantations hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 223 223 2.2.3 Olive groves hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 231 231 2.3.1 Pastures hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 241 0 2.4.1 Annual crops associated with permanent crops hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 242 242 2.4.2 Complex cultivation patterns hard:circle 2 pixels SolidLine 0.26 SolidPattern 243 243 2.4.3 Land principally occupied by agriculture with significant areas of natural vegetation

What happens if there are two diff polygons of the same attribute? for example, if the user wants A:1/2/3, B:3/4/5, A:6/7/8 instead of A:1/2/3/6/7/8 ( points (1 2 3) and (6 7 8) are far away from each other) An option to be more strict with the topology, so we all be happy, would be nice, no doubt. Re: [Qgis-user] Passare dei parametri all'apertura del progetto Qgis
If I understood correctly you're trying to add data(objects) from different users that are projected in different projection system. And naturally they don't fit together because one's X is the others Y... If thats the case, Its always better to work in a fixed projection system. Choose one and stay in that projection. If you have data that are using another projection, you can use "Export To another Projection" (Vector->Data managment-> Export To another Projection" and muster all your data in the within one projection. Having said that... QGIS supports "on-the-fly" transformations. In my experience at least, SVN version is a bit buggy at the moment, but some people suggested that if you state from the start your desired projection system, and enable, at that point "on-the-fly" transformation, you will get very results. To summarize: 1) File->New Project (Close without saving),then 2) File->Project Properties... ,3) Coordinate Reference System (CRS), 4) Make sure you check the Enable 'on the fly' CRS tranformation + choose the crs of your love. One problem I see, is multiple polygones merged in One big messy polygone due to hte fact that it cant "understand" where a polygon ends and the next one starts. If that case arise a little editing comes handy. The whole point as I see it is to minimize doing double work Ofcouse if the plugin is inadequate for the job, the next option is to shape the polygons from, as Mark said, the points mir already has utilizing the snap feature > On Wed, May 12, 2010 at 1:11 PM, mir wrote: > > Hello all, > > > > I have a list of points in sequence that define a polygon. Be careful with the order of the points, otherwise you might get funny results. eg |1 2| is fine , but |4 3| |1 2| will intersect with itself, making two triangles! |3 4| Ves Nikos ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
