[Qgis-user] GPR-maps

2015-03-17 Thread Christer Andersson
Hi,can anybody give an advice how to make a map of a ground penetrating radar
investigation of 15x20 meter, where I know the longitudes and latitudes of the
four corners in the rectangle. I would like to have latitude and longitude
along the sides of the map too. Can I use a map where there already are drawn
some houses? It is extremely hard to learn from the manual. The instructions do
not always correspond with Qgis 2.8.1.I would be very grateful for some help to
get along with this./Christer___

Well - I guess first:
Are the GPR results georeferenced (i.e. do they have a location in the
world)?
Is the map you already have with the houses - is it digital and is it
georeferenced?

Those two questions should start the ball rolling toward an answer.

Re: [Qgis-user] GPR-maps

2015-03-17 Thread Nicolas Cadieux
Hi,
Qgis is moving faster than they can make the manuals.nbsp; 2.8.1 is out but
the manual are mostly translate and finished for 2.6.nbsp; If you are lost,
try installing 2.6.nbsp; There is the software manual but also the
introduction guide and the training manual that is great for learning.
http://www.qgis.org/en/docs/nbsp; Qgis 2.8 should not be that different but
that depends on your learning curve.
Lost of stuff on YouTube in you prefer learning with video.
If your GPR survey is georeferenced, then all you need to do is to open the Map
Composer. If not, it will need to be georeferenced first.

http://docs.qgis.org/2.6/en/docs/training_manual/map_composer/map_composer.html
Add a map, (GPR survey with houses and background) then click on the
frame.nbsp; You will see on the right hand side options for adding a grid.
More example here.
http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/31200/grid-and-graticule-in-qgis-print-composer

For Qgis 2.6, the Grid will be in your project CRS.nbsp; In Qgis 2.8, I think
you can use an alternative grid.nbsp;
Good luck

For me sounds more like he's asking for some kind of basemap, so maybe a
different topic.

You will find in the English documentation of
http://sourceforge.net/projects/proexgprcontrol/
the scripts (GNU/Octave) for generating reflection intensity maps at various
depths I use
for processing GPR datasets and importing those in QGis as ovelayers to
georeferenced
aerial images.
