Hi all, I have a terrible problem with printing under XChange Archive: As far as I remember, ArchRTM and Archive v2.38 do ignore the number of lines per page setting in the printer_dat and awaites the running program to do that by itself. XChange (the recent one), does not seem to behave so. The program I use, calculate the possible lines per page (they can be different, depending how much is printed!), then FF. But there is another FF, depending on the length set in the archv_dat. Is this a known bug in XChange? If I set the number of lines per page to 255 all works well, untill 255 lines are reached (same with other settings). Then there is another FF from the archv_dat. I haven't found out a way to let the archv_dat ignore the set number of lines per page or Archive to ignore the FF from archv_dat. Postamble ist set to NONE! Any cure for that problem? Or should I use the program with Archive v2.38? Maybe someone can supply Archive v2.38 to me, I can't find it at the moment. US Current is rated [EMAIL PROTECTED] whereas Tony's solution was for [EMAIL PROTECTED] Oh yes they would in exactly the same way as UK. 240 -> 110 - OK 110 -> 240 - Not OK ... but it would need a US plug fitted, and connection to an earthed socket (usually only in the kitchen) and an army of UK -> US converters (8-)# I must say I find the lack of earth in the majority of US sockets terrible. It is fine and safe, of course, for most ordinary stuff, but absolutely hopeless for computer equipment. There are two spike filters to earth in all good filters (like Computer Cleaners). Surely the >simplest solution ? I didn't - UK only. These "Computer Cleaners" - much more than simply smoothing capacitors - are still being sold. These mainly cured the problems of crashing QLs. I am not talking about the motherboard's basic susceptibility to crashing with 'dirty' mains. The problem is with expansions not using good buffered and smoothed backplanes. Qubide does have a through port, but when an expansion (like Gold Card) is plugged into it, then the inherent noise of the J1 interface becomes critical. It is the expansion that crashes, not the motherboard in these cases. The 'Bent' mods were to the motherboard, and will not help the daisy-chained expansion much I think. The most entertaining (and well written) technical document I have ever read, and I read it all. As he says, it is mandatory reading. For the reasons outlined there, Worldnews are using UTF-8 now for all news. It does not increase the stored size of English (and American) at all. Any non-UTF-8 (the majority we collect) is converted to UTF-8 before being added the database.
