This is intriguing, but somehow, I think the obvious answer is to use a
black box QL !

Tried the country code 1, no luck there either

Wonderful!

I am thinking of trying KeyTweak which remaps but not sure if that
would work if QPCII doesn't route through it

Anyone done this before?

They use different mechanisms to read the keyboard. Unfortunately some
notebook manufacturers mess up the keyboard scan codes... you can see
what is actually send to the DirectInput queue by downloading the tool
http://www.kilgus.net/soft/diquick.zip

Select "Keyboard" as device and hit Create. Then you select "A
keyboard" in the "Form of..." box and increase the buffer size at the
bottom to 32. Then switch to the data tab and hit the keys that are
not working. I guess that your right shift key does NOT result in a
"Shift right" scan code...

Hi,

The same problem happened to me a few years ago with my new laptop (
Acer Aspire 7720G with Belgian Azerty keyboard).
As nobody on this list could solve the problem I went back to the shop
and I explained the problem. The shopkeeper allowed me to install QPC2
on one of his demo laptops and QPC2 ran as a whisle (correct English?).
The problem seemed to be 2 additional keys ( one for € and one for $) on
the ACER.

QPC2 is no longer installed on that laptop as there seems to be no
solution (or at least I couldn't find one).

Re: [Ql-Users] [ql-users] [off-topic] Updates in Dave-land...

2011-06-01 Thread Norman Dunbar

Morning Dave,

FYI:

I have no idea whether c68 can handle a single file that large! Lack of
output could mean that something has gone wrong, but it could also mean that
c68 is simply still working.

Well, the file size caused more than C68 to have problems. QED, the
editor supplied alongside C68, reads in the first 32676 lines and gives
no indication of any problems. Luckily I didn't save!

QD loads the file and seems to load all of it, but the line number
indicator on the top of the screen has "interesting" characters when you
get too high in line numbers.

I am going to have to split the file into it's constituent parts and
build a make file to cope I think.

Cheers,
Norm.

I suspect this probably has absolutely nothing to do with it in this
case, but for lesser issues it can sometimes be useful to run a laptop
keyboard under the American keyboard layout (country code 1) if you
are having problems with #, @ etc.
