[Ql-Users] More Help Please

2016-06-16 Thread Peter Fox
Hi there,

In an effort to change a few things in my boot file in QPC2, I have run into a
very large
number of problems.

Firstly I have SMSQR dated 2003 and 65K bytes. My boot file working perfectly
well until
I disturbed it. SMSQE was in the boot file but now it does not find either
SMSQE or
SMSQR. I have REMarked it out at the moment. Will this give me any problems?

In addition, I have been having problems with IPCEXTUK which is in line 180.
The calls
are in line 200 and are shewn in the screen shot to have the wrong parameters.

These parameters did work but what please should I do next?

TIA & Regards,

Peter

p.s. I have a nasty feeling that these problems may well continue but I will
have to try
and deal with them one at a time.

[Ql-Users] QPC2 and Win 8

2015-07-17 Thread Peter Fox
Hi there,

I seem to be having terrible problem with QPC2 and Win 8 and 8.1.

When I start QPC2, it always starts with the splash screen that you can avoid
by ticking
the box in the bottom left corner. In my case even if the box is ticked the
splash screen
cannot be avoided.

I have now tried to transfer QXL.win and QXL2.win back to a Windows 7 machine
and have
failed. The dates on the QXL files are 25 October 2014 even though there are
files dated
July 2015 within the files.

Once transfered, all the files later than October 2014 get juncked.

Has anyone else had these problems?

Unfortuantely, I cannot remember how to increase the size of the QXL files
because I have
run out of space in QXL.win

Can anyone help please?

TIA and Regards,

Peter Fox

Re: [Ql-Users] QPC2 and Windows7

2009-07-19 Thread Peter Fox
Hi Tobias,

This weekend I have installed Windows 7 Build 7100.

I have found everything very straightforward until I came to printer
drivers but that is another tale. I have installed and am running QPC2
3.33 and have no problems so far.

Can you explain your problems in more detail and I will see what I can
find.

Peter

Re: [Ql-Users] PCL-3

2008-10-17 Thread Peter Fox
Dilwyn,

Do you have the PCL3 codes to initiate the printer the way you want it?
Such as reset, landscape, font, print spacing , etc.

Then end the printing session with another reset which sets the printer
back to where it should be and includes a form feed to make sure that
the page is printed.

Put these in the preamble and postamble and this should solve all your
problems.

Re: [Ql-Users] PCL-3

2008-10-17 Thread Peter Fox
Dilwyn,

Did the printer need a CD to install it or did it, upon attaching to
your computer, install itself. If the latter, then it definitely has PCL
drivers.

In QPC2 setup there is a section on printers. Select the HP printer to
the port that you want to use and then set the printer drivers to also
work to the same port.

After that, if you are using, for instance, Text 87 make sure that
'para' or 'para2' is used which will connect through to the parallel
port you have selected in the QPC2 Setup.

I hope that this makes sense,

Best Wishes,

Peter Fox

Hi there,

I have found that Remind Me Plus 2 works on my Aurora machine but does
not find any events to display under QPC2. The events2_dat is in win1_.

I am using QPC 3.33 and the latest version of the Aurora system.

Is there something that needs tweaking in Remind Me Plus 2 or is there
another problem.

Thanks again, you will be pleased to know that I have it working.

Re: [Ql-Users] Changing the printer port on Prowess

2008-06-01 Thread Peter Fox
Thank you Bob,

The headings within Proforma_CFG are:

memory options
search path for fonts
load drivers
configure drivers
set default drivers
load resident fonts
list of fonts which can be used

The obvious heading is 'configure drivers' but the items in there are:

d
DEFAULT-DEVICE
PRINTABLE-AREA-SIZE
PRINTABLE-AREA-ORIGIN

none of which look likely.

Where to from here, please?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

TIA & Regards,

Peter

Re: [Ql-Users] Xchange with HP Laserprinter

Hi Karsten,

I have just received an HP Laserjet 1100 which embodies PCL5.

All the Deskjet drivers in Text87 are PCL3 drivers which is a subset of
PCL5 and PCL6.

If you can get a PCL emulation built in to the printer, it just works
and you do not need any Windows drivers either, it just install in XP.

Any more questions, please reply privately.

Re: [ql-users] Compact Flash IDE adaptors

2007-05-24 Thread Peter Fox
Neil,

I did say that the Qubide needs soldering. I will send you the jpeg
privately but if anyone else wants it please let me know.

This 'modification' comes from Croatia and is from the same source as he
who designed the Qubide interface.

It will be obvious that unless the Mod is done, the C/F adapters do not
work. I know, I have tried because I have two Qubides and at one stage
one was modified and one was not and I was trying to use the wrong one.

Best Wishes,

Re: [ql-users] Any old iron.

2007-05-24 Thread Peter Fox
One of the catches with the CF/IDE adapter is that the Qubide hardware
needs a bit of soldering.

Once that is done, the adapter works. My Aurora system is running off a
64Mb CF card currently.

Phoebus pointed me to: http://www.pcengines.ch/

Who sell these adapters in many varieties

All the Best,

Peter

Hi Neil,

Save the zip file in Ram1_ and then copy to a PC floppy changing the
name from Neil_zip to Neil.zip and it will save and can be emailed.

Hope this reaches you in time

Tony,

The CAP is the postcode at least that was what I worked out and it has
been accepted and Yahoo need this and will not register without.

Re: [ql-users] Curious behaviour of Boot Program

2006-06-05 Thread Peter Fox
Quite right and apologies.

I am running this on QPC2, my Aurora machine does not give this problem.
Incidentally, I have found that Abacus does work with 9Mb of memory but
that is because I am only using 16MB total.

The only program I use extensively is Archive because I have a program
that prints envelopes (A4, A5 and DL) on an Epson 740. I found that it
would have been useful to count days which abacus does which is how I
found the problem.

Many thanks

Peter

I am using 2.53 and am using the pointer environment commands including
those which limit memory. The commands I am using are:

ERT HOT_LOAD ('a','ABACUS' ,p, 120)
ERT HOT_LOAD ('b','ARCHIVE' ,p,100)
ERT HOT_LOAD ('c','QUILL' , p, 100)

2006-06-04 Thread Peter Fox
It just says ERROR press space to continue.

Above the 'error' it has 32 but what that means is not clear.

If you press space nothing happens so off to jobs to clear it.

[ql-users] Curious behaviour of Boot Program

2006-06-04 Thread Peter Fox
Hi there,

I have three Psion Programs set up as ALT a for Abacus,
ALT b for Archive, and
ALT c for Quill.

I have found that if I start with loading Abacus, it loads with an
error. On the other hand, if I start with either of the to her two and
then load Abacus, it loads properly.

After the failed load, removing the job through QPAC2 and jobs shews
that not only has Abacus loaded but there are two to her files there
called 'ANON' which are removed by removing Abacus.

I am using ERT HOT_LOAD for all three calls.

Can anyone shed any light on this, please?

Regards

Peter Fox
