P.S. (On Topic this time) I will be restructuring all aspects of my

P.S. 2 (Off Topic again) I may have missed the US Show but at least I

Hi Phoebus,

Glad to hear you decided to return to the US - I bet it was a hard descision
eh? :-))

Sorry I couldn't make it out to Greece in the end, but finances and
Girlfriend troubles wouldn't allow it at the time :-(

Maybe next year.

As for the US Show, yep - it was fun. It was in a nice hotel with a pool
(great!) and we had a great time. Nasta showed us his scematics for the
layout of the Goldfire during a talk about it, on an LCD projector. I gave
the first public screening of the QL 2002 DVD and it went down extremely
well - the room seemed pretty full during it. Herb Schaff gave an excellent
graphics demo using his Aurora, based on his "gee, graphics" articles in Ql
Today, and there was also a ready good update from Jim Hunkins on QDT - the
QL desktop. It seems to be coming along in leaps and bounds and its too far
away from a beta version being distributed to certain people.

Piles of stuff going on - including a virtual D&D Systems stall - they
weren't there but had an information board on display and order forms for
the Q60. Doug la Verne had a pair of faulty disk drives and there were
plenty of experts there to help him out. Steve Reyal and myself also shot
about an hour of footage for the next DVD release so the Europeans can see
what goes on at a US Show. Nice to see a few of them showed up there and
made the journey across - Robin Barker was there as was Alex Wells, and a
good mix of the American users.

Next one is either in Florida or California - I think the former was the
preferred option. Maybe we should start a petition to get the date moved so
you can be there next year??

Btw, Did you get the bank draft I sent to Greece?

The project is, for include files etc, to refer to files on "dev3_", so

Hi John,

Yes, unfortunately it is short notice, but it seems like the only likely
time - the end of the year is filling up for QL shows - Bertechgaden,
Eindhoven, Byfleet, a possible London show, and Paris are all planned for
September to October, or possibly into November.

This really only left the August holiday weekend. the weather is still good,
and so are the pubs ;-)) And there will be a lot of tourists about.

I think I will make it a permanent fixture from next year in May, this is
between the Quanta AGM (april) and the USA Show (June).

interesting.. send me the output of 'qm -v 6' and 'xdpyinfo'.
As a quick fix you can try using some other screen depth for
X (like startx -- -bpp 8).
